??? I'm saying Aldridge has a small advantage over bosh. It's not a giant advantage like Lillard had over Chalmers. I'm sorry. What do you want me to say? I think Aldridge is better. I don't think there's like a three tier difference though.

And the reality is if Chris was on any other roster other than that one. The perception of LA having a 'small' advantage may not be there.

I'm not sure he does have an advantage. He really didn't in Dec when Bosh went off for 31 with a game winning 3. A situation in which he had to step up.

Right. It's difficult to just say Oh here are their averages, a is better than b when one is forced to play 3rd fiddle, but whatever. I think Aldridge is better. But it's not a wide gap

Bosh has more range and shoots at a much higher percentage than LA.

3 pt range Bosh 31% LA 21%
16ft to 3 line Bosh 46% LA 42%
10-16 ft Bosh 41% LA 41%
3-10 ft Bosh 42% LA 44%
0-3 Bosh 65% LA 69%

By those career numbers it would suggest Bosh is more pure shooter and LA is better around the basket.
 
Bosh had some monster seasons with Toronto. He was equally the goto guy there as LMA is here. LMA had his best season ever, this past season. Bosh had about 5 seasons as good or better.

You have to give credit to the guy to be willing to sacrifice stats for winning. I think it takes a team player to willingly be #3 option when you've had great (statistical) success as the #1 elsewhere.
 
But Bosh isn't a "power" Power Forward. He shoots jumpers. He must suck.

How many teams win a championship with the PF being a focal point outside of the Mavs with Dirk? I believe that in today's NBA the backcourt is more important than the frontcourt. In the 80's and most of the 90's it was the other way around.

If you moved LeBron James to the 4 position, would he not still dominate and be the focal point of the game? Would the Heat not still be champions?

It doesn't matter where your strengths come from. If you're good, you're good. How far you go all depends on what you are willing to do on the defensive end.

So lets get this straight. One of those stats means nothing (3 Pt)... And 16-20 ft, the very thing you criticize LA for doing too much, Bosh is only 4% better. Then, the rest of the stats LA is tied or better at.

So you would want bosh as your "pure shooter" because he does something that you hate LA for doing. Quality.

I'm actually really curious.

How did Toronto do with him as their #1 option?

One winning season (47 wins). Bosh played 69 games that season, too.

I critique LA for taking too many shots from that range. Bosh shot 48% from that range this season that is a major difference. Plus I never said I want Bosh as my pure shooter but he is a better shooter than LA.

So, if LA made 48% from a spot on the floor that you detest PF's shoot from, that'd be okay?

a few, Lebron is basically a PF, Duncan, Larry Bird
 
4% difference is about one more make per game for LA. One more make per game is 2 points, which could have netted us 3 more wins, and the potential to win 5 more games by going to overtime. That's potentially 8 more wins. I love LA, but one more shot per game would have been big this year.

Of course, LA doesn't have to make that one extra shot. It could have been anyone.

Yes, I do. The real issue is the play of the bench. We need a second unit who can be relied upon night in and night out. A better, more consistent bench means fewer minutes required by the starters. That should be a goal.

Yes 48% is above average shot in the NBA. 42% is below average, one shot helps the team and one does not.
