If tonight wasn't telling... (1 Viewer)

Dame has his best game of the year (40 and 10)

And we still lost by 20.

We need LOTS of help. Through the draft. Trade. SOMETHING. Dame did right tonight, the rest of the team just... no.

Luckily we have tradeable assets, tons of cap space and will probably have a good draft pick in a good draft. It's always been known that this team was essentially Damian Lillard with a bunch of adequate role players.

I think help will come fairly quickly (in terms of this upcoming summer and probably by next year's trade deadline and we'll be right in the thick of things before too long.

Yeah, I think next season we make the POs without major changes. Which makes it all the more important that we keep this year's pick and give DEN a crappy pick in the low 20s next year.

The ideal scenario is a top 3 pick and we are able to finally get a marquee player either through an outright signing or a trade, both are doable. Like I've been saying, Lillard's influence with Adidas and his comraderie with other guys like Barnes or DeRozan may help out convincing them to come and build something special here in Rip City.

Green has more assists last year and this year than Morris does in his career. Green also is a very good defender. Morris not so much.

I don't know, i don't watch Morris outside of his meetings with Portland.
I listened to Zach Lowe's pod today and they were talking about the 2 as if they match-up pretty good and have similar skill set.

I tend to think Morris is worth the "gamble" of acquiring him for free. Stats are not something i rely on anymore to pass judgement.

Can DeRozan play SF? If so I MIGHT get on board with trying to sign him IF we luck into Ben Simmons and play him at PF.

Dame
CJ
DeRozan
Simmons
Plumlee

I wouldn't get DeRozan to replace CJ, but anything to get Aminu out of the starting line up would be a good thing.

This place cracks me up. Everyone says we need to tank for another good player to pair with dame. CJ has a break out year and shows massive potential to be a star and everyone wants to trade him cause we already have dame.
Not "everyone". But, yeah.

..and the Warriors are working on a Dynasty.

Yeah I'd just throw in the towel if I was in charge; no point in trying to beat those assholes. But I'm very glad smarter and more driven people are in charge, because I'd be the worst GM ever.

The playoffs would be the ABSOLUTE WORST scenario we could hope for, IMO.

Oh, okay. So if Stephen Curry dropped dead tomorrow, Golden State would still be the best team because they have the best record? And if they'd played all their games at home against patsies and another team had played all its games on the road against much better competition and lost just one more game, Golden State would still be better? I never knew it could be so simple!

If ________ dropped dead.

Insert the name of the best player on any team here.

Very nonsensical argument.

I disagree.
If we know that Brian Scalabrine is the greatest player of all times and we also know that Meyers Leonard is a better shooter then him then how can Meyers be garbage?

Huh?

The point was that win/loss record is not an infallible indicator of quality. There, is that simpler?

I'll agree with that. The past couple years we definitely weren't as good as our W/L record said we were.
