I just watched Dr.Ezekiel Emanuel explain what the deal is. The Government will tell you what you like. Most of us did not have what we like. The insurance my employer had been stuffing me with all those years wasn't any good, so I don't like it!! I am happy they canceled it.

Fuck! When does the War start?

As soon as you fire the first shot.

This is one scary dude.
The architect of the Government run health care system.

This is about taking control away from the individual and the Doctor you hire to help you and putting it in the hands of central control to produce the greater equity in use of resources in our society. This is the designer of Obama care

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ezekiel_Emanuel

Here is how he wants the resource spent by age. Notice this has nothing to do with individual effort. A twenty year old is just that regardless of what they have done. Same with a sixth five year old, you are the same as any other without regard to what you have learned or earned.

It is absolutely amazing that people did not see this coming. You can not add coverage for a lot of things like contraception and covering all preexisting conditions without the cost of insurance going up. Way up.

Now the next big thing that people will have to learn is these new policies (subsidized by the government) are subject to the control of the government to make sure money spent in the healthcare system is allocated equitably to the population. The treatment you receive will not be in control of you and your Doctor. It will be according to the rule given to the insurance companies by the government. See Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel's Complete LIves System for details.

Wow that's some bullshit! I could bet $100 that Obama will make George Bush, Jr. look like a great president ever by the time his term is over.

bro, you totally need coverage for maternity leave. so does a 90 year old grandma!

Re: If you like your Healthcare coverage, you can keep your Healthcare coverage! Peri

Have you noticed that no one has spoke out, saying they saved money on insurance? You would think that a plan like this would have millions, running to the first person they know and say "I just saved money on my health insurance!"

Obamacare's Website Is Crashing Because It Doesn't Want You To Know How Costly Its Plans Are

A growing consensus of IT experts, outside and inside the government, have figured out a principal reason why the website for Obamacare’s federally-sponsored insurance exchange is crashing. Healthcare.gov forces you to create an account and enter detailed personal information before you can start shopping. This, in turn, creates a massive traffic bottleneck, as the government verifies your information and decides whether or not you’re eligible for subsidies. HHS bureaucrats knew this would make the website run more slowly. But they were more afraid that letting people see the underlying cost of Obamacare’s insurance plans would scare people away.

HHS didn’t want users to see Obamacare’s true costs

“Healthcare.gov was initially going to include an option to browse before registering,” report Christopher Weaver and Louise Radnofsky in the Wall Street Journal. “But that tool was delayed, people familiar with the situation said.” Why was it delayed? “An HHS spokeswoman said the agency wanted to ensure that users were aware of their eligibility for subsidies that could help pay for coverage, before they started seeing the prices of policies.” (Emphasis added.)

As you know if you’ve been following this space, Obamacare’s bevy of mandates, regulations, taxes, and fees drives up the cost of the insurance plans that are offered under the law’s public exchanges. A Manhattan Institute analysis I helped conduct found that, on average, the cheapest plan offered in a given state, under Obamacare, will be 99 percent more expensive for men, and 62 percent more expensive for women, than the cheapest plan offered under the old system. And those disparities are even wider for healthy people.

That raises an obvious question. If 50 million people are uninsured today, mainly because insurance is too expensive, why is it better to make coverage even costlier?

Fuck! I can't even buy what I had at any price.

I have a meeting with my exchange scheduled for this afternoon. We shall see what all this shit means, But it is not looking good.

It really is hard to defend this program unless you are uninsured with either a terminal illness, old or very very poor (like working at McDonald's poor)

Coming soon. You will be required to participate in wellness programs. (weight loos, smoking cessation, whatever the government deems appropriate for you.)

The video in that Wall Street Journal article is pretty funny. One of the analysts said, why not just pay the fine and if you do get sick, get the health care.

It's a given that is exactly what the younger generation will do.

And why not? I mean why should you pay for insurance when you can pay some yearly membership of to this program, then use it if something does go down.

It's really hard to defend this program when people are eager to repeat endlessly absolutely any lie anyone makes up, no matter how absurd.
Plus I have a lot of work to do today.

Well actually I don't think they will even have to pay the fine. That fine is a direct tax. Direct taxes are prohibited In the Constitution, That is why we have the sixteen amendment, to make Income Tax
a direct tax legal. That last ruling by the court established the individual mandate fine is a Tax. Now it remains to be challenged because it is a Direct tax.

Obamacare was already challenged on that basis and ruled not to be a direct tax. From Wikipedia:

In National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius, the Supreme Court held that a penalty directly imposed upon individuals for failure to possess health insurance, though a tax for constitutional purposes, is not a direct tax.[8] The Court reasoned that the tax is not a capitation because not everyone will be required to pay it, nor is it a tax on property. Rather "it is triggered by specific circumstances.

Excuses excuses.

Need to earn a few extra bucks to pay for your ObamaCare? :)

Wow! You are correct that part of the ruling in not in the one I copied.. But WTF? It is not a direct Tax? A tax laid on individual? Before they ruled taxes on items you bought were not direct so excise taxes were legal
Now they say taxes on individual for not buying something are not direct taxes??? Wonder why the hell the sixteenth amendment was even needed? They are only taxing individual that get income, what is more direct about that tax?? Geez this is more screwed up every day.

Re: If you like your Healthcare coverage, you can keep your Healthcare coverage! Peri

I wonder when the lower middle class will get the sting of Obama and his incompetence? I say next year, the lower middle class and up will all be raped financially. Get the lube boys and girls!

It's really hard

But seriously, the lower middle class and working poor are going to be helped. Yes, the 'and up' (you and me) will pay a bit more. No one is getting raped. The sky is not falling. You and everyone else will survive this.

You can say we can survive this, but what proof do you have up your sleeve to justify this "It's okay" concept?

Perspective. Common sense.

A fairly minor change in our healthcare insurance is not going to destroy the nation. You really think we can survive depression, war, terrorism, etc. but insurance is going to defeat us?

Re: If you like your Healthcare coverage, you can keep your Healthcare coverage! Peri

Yep, fairly minor. Although you wouldn't know it from the howling, most people won't be significantly affected. Of those that are, some will gain benefits (subsidies, coverage or better coverage, lower rates). Some will pay more (taxes and/or higher rates). The system is still primarily employer based private insurance, as it was before. This isn't a fundamental change, this is an incremental change.
