<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Dumpy @ Mar 31 2008, 08:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>The Nets are stuck with Stro and Hassell unless they combine them with either Williams and/or the lottery pick. I think that is a major constraint. Stro and Hassell will get paid a combined $10 million. If you keep them, you'll probably be forced to play one or both of them regularly.
Marcus has actually been playing pretty well the last few games--much more controlled, within himself. Still, I'd be willing to move him. The problem with doing so is that will leave the Nets with just one PG (since Armstrong is expected to retire), and I can't see them trying to integrate two PGs simultaneously (since they will carry three on their roster next year). As for Swat, I don't know what they'd get for him that would be so much of an upgrade. He is too raw; there is too great a chance that he'll never be more than Stromile.
I'm happy with a core of Devin, Vince, RJ, and Boone. I'm even happy adding Marcus and Diop to that core. I suspect the Nets will resign Krstic and hope that he recovers his form. So, now we have a couple of players that are hopeless on defense, and a couple that are often indifferent. The big issue is what to do with Boki; even though he's a good guy, I'd love to just let him go, but I suspect that they'd just replace him with someone else who can't play defense, but who is even more erratic a shooter.
The Nets right now appear to thrive in an up-tempo game. It is who they are; it appears to give them energy. Frank needs to get over the grind-it-out style and just let them go. I'd draft a shooter that can run the floor and hopefully play some defense. Mayo comes to mind, if he's available. I'd try to punt Hassell if I could.</div>
AMEN. but idk about kristic.
