of course i cant speak for all the vince fans out there but for me..

1. its obvious. kobe is better. kobe is vince with a killer instinct. no debating.

2. its all about winning. vince has had individual glory. its time to complete his nba journey and win. vince is near the top of the most unselfish guys in the league and i think he would be a great fit to compliment a kobe and gasol.

2. its [not] all about winning. vince has had individual glory. its time to complete his nba journey and win. vince is near the top of the most unselfish guys in the league and i think he would be a great fit to compliment a <strike>kobe and gasol</strike> Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, Steve Nash, or Shaquille O'Neal.

A few slight modifications that reflect my own viewpoint as a Vince fan.

The only development I can imagine that would make me stop following Vince's career before he retires is for him to become a teammate of Kobe "Rapist" Bryant, one of the few guys in the league who can make Jason Kidd seem personally virtuous by comparison. I'll follow Vince to a perrennial cellar dweller. I'll follow him to the Knicks, even (forgive me, Lord.) But please, Thorn, don't ever make him teammates with the most repugnant personality in professional sports.

oh i hear you loud and clear. i was merely responding to the idea of vince on the lakers. i think he would be a better fit on portland. perfect fit, actually. and utah would also be pretty dead on.

i do hate kobe too but i guess not as much as you. i think hes an arrogant prick who turns off a lot of basketball fans by the way he conducts himself.

i was being optimistic that maybe vince could bring out the good in kobe? haha i dunno man...just daydreaming I guess

I mention us using draft picks and expirings to Memphis for Mike Miller.
Making Miller our starting SG, RJ our SF, and Odom our PF...
Why...because we'd still be competitive...maybe even good while having contracts expiring for a run at Lebron.

The Blazers want a stud PG. They already have young PGs in Sergio on the roster and Playboy Pete over in Finland. Marcus isn't close to a significant upgrade alone, and then you want the Blazers to make the humongous downgrade from Aldridge to Sean Williams.

Not even if the Nets took back the huge contracts of LaFrentz and Miles.

Oh please stop. Rapist???? Kobe may not be a stand up NBA player but that whole rapist situation was Shullbit to the fullest. You can talk about Kobe all you want personally but what he does and brings to court puts him in conversation of not only best in the game but ever. Can u say the same about VC?

Any way to stay on the subject. If I was the GM the first thing that would take my focus would be Vince Carter. I know the VC fans are going scream injuries and cry because I feel he needs to be relocated. The thing is his contract is horrible and with a young team as the Nets they need a leader and a vet who can lead team.


It's not a knock on the man but this situation is not the right one for him or the nets. Look at KG I remember saying last yr when KG was traded he will turn Boston to a contender and will be in the MVP race.

KG has brought an intensity and a whole new attitude to his team.

Second I would make Krstic a fair offer but I would not break the bank on another 7 footer who can hit outside shots, can't rebound well and is bullied in the paint by players 6-9. In all I feel Krstic would be a great player to come off the bench which still might be in his future if he doesn't improve.

do you really think getting rid of VC is going to help this team in any way? who are they going to go to play after to play to get points? We all know how that worked out this year. The Nets suck without Vince Carter we know it, the Nets know it, and everyone the Nets play knows it.

I can understand if were sitting here in the same position next year after going a full year with this team. Because then Frank will be fired and VC traded away. But the value this team can get this year for VC and next year for VC will not be much different. If he's traded now this team is basically guarunteeing itself a lottery pick.

Im a Carter fan and I'm not crying and screaming injury. I know when Carter is playing without passion and when he is and im not ready to defend him.

Secondly, Carter leaving the nets in the short term wont happen, the team will be worst off and they wont get much value from a trade.

In the long term, I see Carter getting moved for some young players with potential who are cap friendly.

I have no interest in detailing (yet again) the many pieces of evidence -- from transcripts of his "interview" with police to his watered down, public "apology"/confession after charges were dropped -- that point to Bryant's guilt. Anyone acquainted with the facts, as reported by multiple reputable news sources, and possessing reasonable sohpistication and objectivity in judging human nature and behavior knows the score. So I will continue to call a spade a spade -- or a rapist a rapist -- any time I choose. He can always sue me for libel. But somehow I don't think he will.

I was expressing my personal revulsion, as a Vince fan first and foremost, at the prospect (put forward by others) of Carter ending up teammates with Bryant on the Lakers. I would find it impossible to continue to follow Vince's career if it meant having to root for a team with Bryant. I was in no way comparing their basketball accomplishments, where Bryant is clearly superior.

On that subject, however, I will say that I consider Vince the most athletically gifted player I've ever seen. Never has a player caused me so many times to "ooh" and "ahh" in disbelief or stunned awe, not even Jordan. So, for me, Vince has been the best entertainment value in the league since he entered it, and that's quite enough reward for my investment of time watching him.

Mickeal Pietrus will be my first choice this off season but we definately should go after Keyon Dooling, his a solid combo guard that can shoot and defend.
An inexpensive possible camp invite tarence Kinsey, once given a shot he can be solid. He was putting up good numbers shooting .429% beyond the arc before he was waved
 
I would love Dooling on the Nets. Marcus's replacement and can play some sg.


Oh, and he plays decent defense too.

actually, really young. two players over 30. average age would have to be like 25. I can't decide if I like it or not.

That lineup would get dominated by teams with great bigs. Krstic is too soft, and kirilenko is to weak to guard people like amare, dwight, duncan, jermaine oneal, brand. We'd also get killed on the offensive boards. Instead get Kirilenko and millsap for RJ + our dallas first rounder. Draft CDR with our first rounder. Sign Dooling as a free agent and we got ourselves a nice little lineup. Millsap has the body size and tenacity to actually guard bigger guys and has a lot of potential. He hasn't been given the starter role yet, but he definitely is very effective off the bench so who knows where he can go.

yeah the Jazz are pretty high on Millsap but I could definitely see them pulling the trigger on something like this because Kirilenko has really not fit their system the past couple of years. In my opinion, RJ would be a great fit for them because he wouldn't be asked to be the go to guy and the Jazz like to run, which he is best at.
