What does hoopsguru have to do with any of this?
As for the rest of your post, I thought we already agreed to disagree.
Hoopshuru, not Hoopsguru.

umm it was him and i that had similar ideas that you dismissed as nothing more than snark worthy.
As I said, even my initial response had perfectly cromulent objections to your (apparently incomplete) idea. You were deeply offended by the sarcasm, but sarcasm is pretty common on this forum. You just have to be tough!
(Or just not engage with people you think are "snarky.")
The commie part is conformity, herd mentality! lolThe pirate part is selfish, the commie part is not. I am large, I contain multitudes.

News to my ears.Be careful you aren't allowed to discuss l certain things around here…
My list would require that you have some concept of infinity.I'm sorry won't discuss what? I'll discuss that I'm an asshole.
I know. How about a contest...
You list 5 reasons why I'm the worst person you know and the world's biggest asshole and I'll list 5 even better reason!
A person who cheats is generally a selfish person. What does fair have to do with selfish?

Update on Alex: He still wants to be a girl, so the family is rolling with that. They're working now to find him a suitable school that he'd be comfortable in. I've been told they're visiting one in the San Juan's tomorrow.
A person who cheats is generally a selfish person.
Men have hips naturally built for running and lifting. Women have hips built for successful child birth.
This creates an obvious advantage for males in most sports, and this is one reason of many why there are different divisions. If a person has the natural biological advantage that half of the world's population has they should not be allowed to compete in the division with the half of the world's population which doesn't.
Ignoring that and trying to compete against the biologically disadvantaged class can be nothing other than selfish. It's cheating.
There is a very clear line. Playing up should be commended if the player can compete. Playing down should never be commended or rewarded.
Ah, now I understand what you meant, thanks.
But while I agree with you, cheating is selfish, I still maintain that winning is selfish, even if not obtained by cheating.
And also that Shaq was clearly playing down, and he should not have been commended or rewarded.

Back in the mid sixties in the bay area ,a friend of mine who stayed in a commune for a couple months, because he was on a, all things common journey told me the most selfish people he'd every been around were the ones in the commune.Ah, now I understand what you meant, thanks.

My Niece, Lisa, and Alex will be visiting the school today to see if it will be a good fit for him. Appears to be an amazing, empowering school. One of the more important issues throughout all of this is that Alex can get a good education, while being accepted and encouraged. In any case, Lisa wants the very best for him, and his future, irrespective of ultimate gender choices.

I know it's an adjustment but you might want to start referring to Alex using female pronouns. It's a small thing but would show that she is still an accepted part of your family.
Shaq was playing at the highest level possible. And hence should certainly be both commended and rewarded.Ah, now I understand what you meant, thanks.

Well said!Shaq was playing at the highest level possible. And hence should certainly be both commended and rewarded.
Winning is technically selfish, however it's the whole point of competing. It is not detrimental to the sport, so it is encouraged.
Trans competing against women is not the point of competing, and is incredibly detrimental to women's sports (which already have enough trouble making money and generating interest). Hence, trans with male biology should be prohibited from competing against women and encouraged to compete against men.

PS: Phatguysrule is a selfish remark in and of itself.

Talk about how THAT could be misunderstood!!
YASSSS QUEEN
A long line of cis men declaring themselves experts on what is not fair to women.
Women have great variation in hips.
Some women are so narrow hipped they need C section to give birth.
But facts never stopped men from declaring themselves experts on female biology.
Not giving birth apparently qualifies men, in their minds, to be experts on pregnancy.
Thread is incorrectly titled. It should be "I think trans people are icky".
