And that's the interesting aspect of this. Among other pushbacks, he's now attacking Pride Month exclaiming, "You have all your rights, now shut up!" Go figure.

Violence against your children is nothing new in the deep South where they believe in "spare the rod, spoil the child." My grandfather was beat with a bull whip, my father was beat, and I was beat with a belt.

It was a play on Mars Blackmon. At any rate, I grew up in Oregon and got whipped a bit myself. Sly's surmised that Herschel must've whipped the (public) gay out of Christian, despite the kid's innermost feelings. Good ol' Sly.

I believe the wife abuse took place over 20 years ago. Also, he suffered from a mental disorder that, as far as I know, he has overcome. Even wrote a book about it.

I'm not sure you can "overcome" a mental "disorder" (which is a strange way of blaming the wrong thing). You learn to manage it, but you don't overcome anything.

If you're suffering from depression, but aren't currently depressed, it doesn't mean you've "overcome" depression.

That's no different than saying someone got over being gay.

Lots of abused people have close relationships with their abusers.

You really should take some human psyche classes, you would benefit greatly from actually understanding why things happen, and not just go "well, the bible says this" or whatever.

"Pride month is starting so I’d like to announce to everyone that I’m NOT gay. I’m attracted to men but I refuse to identify with the rainbow cult. I don’t believe in indoctrinating children. My whole identity isn’t my sexuality. And I don’t go to gay bars. Don’t call me gay."

I don't think human psyche classes would somehow clear that all up. I think Christian is his own man, despite any challenges he "may" have had during his upbringing. Somehow blaming Herschel seems like a clear cop-out to me.

Maybe if you took the time to educate yourself on certain subjects (in this case, human psychology, which clearly you know jack shit about), you wouldn't be prone to making such ignorant, bigoted and demonstrably false statements.

Wouldn't surprise me that he doesn't feel comfortable being who he is, identifying who he is, with a dad like that.

Especially considering he was raised in a (clearly) abusive household, and one where violence was the reaction to a lot of issues. And African Americans/Blacks have historically been less likely to be as welcoming to homosexuality as other races have.

Throw in that they're both grifting, it's clear he's doing it for the attention to make up for the positive attention he didn't get from his dad.
 
You all seem to have the diagnoses all wrapped up. Good on ya! Surprising, though, that you're not seeing any of this discussed in the general public. I wonder why? Trust me, if even a portion of this were true, it would be all over the place.

Meanwhile, Christian supports his father, and many other conservative initiatives. That's where the real rub is with you guys.
