I'm sure he would be glad to know that the coach who offered the scholarship is putting winning above anything else and his daughter will have a chance to go elsewhere.

Bob Whitsitt put winning above everything else, too. I still kinda chuckle when I recall him quipping he wasn't a chemistry major.

I dont blame the Penn girl swimmers from being upset.
They should just sanction another class of competition, seems like an equitable fair solution. They probably would like for that to happen anyway.

science has shown muscle growth and definition is based on metabolism and hormones. maybe there needs to be a range where the students have to land within that range with testing to be allowed to compete?
Then the ones outside of the range can have their own class or sect?

or any female over the range has to compete with the males?

Some peope will take offence to what im about to say but i dont care.
Maybe there should be a trans section?

We have special olympics for those with mental and physical disabilities. Would being born with sex organs opposite one thinks they are would also be a handicap or disability of some sort?

we have special olympics because they cant compete with healthy people.

Should be the same for trans.

Yes, soon. Very soon all athletes will be trans. Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls. It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world.

You must be a bi-pirate then?

Her competing on the mens team is probably more fair than her competing against women.
They need a sanctioned class for trans to make it totally fair, imo.

Young women will not want to go to Penn and swim if they think they wont be given a fair shot.

The solution should always be something equitable for both, then build on it.

Anyone who is physically different should be excluded from sports. For example, Shaq should not have been allowed to play basketball. He's too big. Abdul-Jabbar? Too tall.

There definitely should be a trans section. Trans men and trans women are basically the same thing, just like gay women and gay men are the same thing. And if you're the only trans swimmer in your school or conference, tough luck. God didn't intend for you to swim.

You're too smart for S2.

Oh for crying out loud. The hyperbole is ridiculous. No one said exclusion.

Boxing has weight classes. Wrestling has weight classes.

why cant their be different classes like what was suggested prior the snark?

Nothing was suggested except "make trans people their own thing," which, by itself, is obviously ridiculous. It's not on us if you drop in an incomplete idea that makes no sense by itself--you need to flesh it out so that it could actually work in real life.

and your way of fleshing it out is to respond with snark versus asking for clarity?

Got it…

Yes, because that sort of ill-thought-out, exclusionary-on-its-face idea makes discussions like this worse, not better. Instead of just throwing shit against the wall in case something sticks, why not go to the effort of thinking something through first? "Random shit that happens to enter your mind" doesn't really deserve much more than snark.

Yeah, uh huh.

umm wow. Lol.
So suggesting they have their own section isnt thought out according to your standards. How absolutely over the top.

Its absolutely logical to suggest thst.
Special olympics?

weight classes in many sports?

As i posted earlier about metabolism Nd muscle mass, i would assume a transgender would have more muscle mass, equating to a heavier weight. So why not have different weight classes?
I apologize that my suggestion doesn't meet your “criteria” but it wasnt “throwing shit on the wall to see what sticks” it was a discussion of sections and classes other sports have,
your standards are simply not reasonable based on the above reference points…

I mean wow.
And its the other side that has communication issues. riiiggghhht.

Lol.
Uh huh.

The two biggest examples being used about transsexuals in sports have been in track and field and now swimming. Not sports that use weight classes.

I do kind of want to see the heavy weight divisions of swimming and 100m dash, though. Lol

Trans athletes in Thailand have competed with men in kickboxing for a long time....I think they had a superstar kickboxer who was trans......they compete in the male competitions though from what I saw...not the female bouts. That's gone on for a long, long time.

I recall a transgender being disqualified from a a sporting event due to a prescription they had used for a toothache. The official charge was transdental medication.

My response that you labeled as "snark" had two reasons why it's not remotely logical or workable. But, again, you can't be bothered to actually think anything through. You throw out a silly, unworkable idea and then get angry that no one's taking it seriously. That's how you deal with most social topics--a drive-by thought with no effort behind it and then you demand it be shown respect.

Be better if you want to be treated better.

Right. Im suggesting the addition of weight classes as a possible solution?

No it didnt. You inferred without analysis. Like you cant have transgender male class and transgender female class?

you cant have classes for women and men by weight?
Lightweight swimming class? Middleweight? Etc?

You didn't address that in your snark…nor have an answer for it not being a viable solution.

man your post reaks of arrogance.

Be better….

Don't come at me with my “conversational issues” when you clearly are incapable of having a conversation without belittlement and condescension…

Fucking ridiculous…

Be better.

And lets not forget us ignant folk dont get no sarcasm or that types of smart stuff so we’s not understandings what you means anyhows…

please teaches us to be better like yous..
