The level of hate and vitriol against LGBTQ community on Fox, among Republicans, is truly scary. I haven't seen anything like this in decades, if ever. We are child molested, child mutilators, child abusers, an existential threat to the country. Merely mentioning our existence harms children.

How long before people are going to be killed.

Yes. Great synopsis.

But it was a serious question. You used to be a huge Blazer fan, now you just hang in the OT section. If you're looking for other forums or places that are more supportive of your political and social takes I would be happy to point out some to you.[/QUOTE_

Wow. Nice way to treat ABM, a veritable cornerstone of this once great forum board.

Says a lot about your inability to tolerate any viewpoint, no matter how mild or mainstream, other than your own.

As for absence from the sports side of the forum it might be the reality that the new management is starting a multi-year tank for lottery picks strategy. Been there, done that. Here we are again.

People already have been killed for merely being gay. Hate crimes like this have happened.

Oh, I am well aware. Matthew Shepard. Pulse Nightclub. The way AIDS was ignored. But you didn't have major media and mainline politicians openly cheering for our death. They used to be outliers. Now they are governors of major states.

Yeah the level of homophobia is pretty extreme right now.

FYI, that article directly contradicts the tweet.

Perhaps, a larger question might be....how were they able to pull that off....unsupervised? Not knowing the socio-spatial dynamics of this prision, it still seems problematic.

Let's talk about the Air Force sending a message....

Probably the same way that perverted sex trafficker got his ass kicked by his cell mate a couple weeks before he "hung himself".

Reactions: ABM
Charlie Kirk went on Fox "news" and blamed inflation on transgender people. You can't make this shit up.

Conservative Pundit Says Trans People Are to Blame for Inflation

Conservative pundit Charlie Kirk has a new economic theory when it comes to the cause behind inflation in the U.S. It’s not supply chain issues caused by the pandemic, as is largely believed by economists — it’s transgender people.

Kirk explains on his show, “there’s a lawmaker and a designer, and being Christians, we believe those laws were made to be followed for our flourishing and our prosperity…. Outside of the religious component of this, there are laws of economics,” as Media Matters reports.

He goes on to explain that we don’t get to “determine your own reality,” and for that reason he both opposes transgender equality and connects it to inflation. “So there’s a direct connection to inflation and the trans issue,” he said. “You say, ‘Charlie, come on. They couldn’t be further apart.’ No, they’re exactly the same.”

“They’re the same in this aspect – when you believe that men can become women, why wouldn’t you also believe that you could print wealth? If you believe that someone can change their gender, why wouldn’t you also believe that money is wealth?” explained Kirk. “Now there are very simple laws of economics. Just like there’s laws of nature. There’s laws of physics, laws of thermodynamics, laws of biology.”

Kirk conflates the idea that living happily as one’s true authentic self is the same as printing money and increasing the money supply. So, by breaking the “laws” of economics or the “laws” of biology, there will be punishment — in the latter case, that punishment is in the form of inflation.

@ABM just got BOOM Roasted.

Research, then post. Rookie.

You people. I had already seen that. There's a CLEAR difference between "connecting" (in whatever way) and "blaming".
The reality is they have nothing to do with each other. There is no connection.

The reality is, inflation doesn't happen just by "printing money".

We know that because we "printed money" like crazy for a decade following 2008 with no increased or unhealthy inflation.

Restricted supply for extended periods does cause inflation... Which is what we're seeing now.

"Christians" should definitely listen to the part about not getting to choose their own reality though...

Fine. Just don't say Charlie Kirk is blaming inflation on transgenders. Therein lies the lie.

He made it sound like that's what he was saying. And that's dangerous.

The idiots that listen to him and people like Trump and the Tuck tend to make those kinds of leaps...

CHARLIE KIRK (HOST): So, one of the reasons why we take such a strong stance and opinion on the trans issue is it's an issue of reality. You do not get to determine your own reality. You do not get to suddenly say, I'm rich or I'm poor. No, we actually have to look at some evidence as to whether or not you're rich or poor. Now, some of those are relative terms - rich according to who? Rich according to what? I understand that. But relatively, some of the terms we use -- short, tall - you can't just make them up and say, oh wow, that person is taller than that person, that person is faster than that person, that person is stronger than that person.

And one of the reasons we've been so insistent against this idea you can change your gender, or change your sex, or change both of them, is that when you start to indulge in the belief that you could become whatever you want and reality is subjective, not objective, you're going to have ramifications that nobody anticipated or intended.

So, there's a direct connection to inflation and the trans issue. You say, Charlie, come on. They couldn't be further apart. No, they're exactly the same. Now there are very simple laws of economics. Just like there's laws of nature. There's laws of physics, laws of thermodynamics, laws of biology.

We must to – we must live according to those laws. We believe there's a lawmaker and a designer and being Christians, we believe those laws were made to be followed for our flourishing and our prosperity. The law is a teacher. The law is a guide to how to properly live. You live in defiance to the law, you lie steal or cheat, you actually won't flourish. You'll be miserable. You'll be unhappy. You'll get further from god's wish for you. Now outside of the religious component of this, we also believe there are laws of economics. There are laws of economics just like there are laws of physics.

Probably should have a beer and call it a night.

This is what crandc said:

I simply disagreed. Charlie Kirk did not "blame" inflation on transgender people. He made two separate comparisons. There's a difference.
