Depends. Sometimes I just click on a thread to "unbold" it, but don't read a thing therein. Gotta preserve what little sanity I have left somehow.

I vote for this toxic thread to get locked. We've already lost one transgendered forum member here...let crandc start a thread in support of this community instead of this one that's sole purpose is to cast doubt upon transgendered people....threads have been locked for less around here and this is not the first time I suggest locking this thread.

Why? I posted a legitimate vid wherein the gay guest has some legitimate questions surrounding trans-related topics. It's certainly discussable.

So, let's discuss. You posted the video, can you find the sources to support the claims on said video?

Otherwise it's not really discussable, thereby counterproductive.

What according to you are the legitimate questions?

Ask and you shall receive.

What according to you are the legitimate questions?

Somewhat addressed by Megyn's guest, will a "majority" of kids who claim to be trans actually change their minds at some point? If so, it would be a pretty big deal if they already had the puberty blockers, sex reassignment surgery, et al.

There's more than just one legitimate question, though. This is a few years old, but it basically addresses some of the stuff going on within the community itself. Does it matter? Who knows.

Doctors, except in very rare cases, do not do surgery on minors.

Actual studies show that, far from trans youth post treatment realizing they are actually cis, trans youth can have great difficulty acknowledging to themselves and others they are transgender. And those who undergo gender affirming health care receive counseling prior to any treatment to verify they are trans and not just unhappy with who they are generally. And overwhelmingly they do not regret treatment.

Sure, any time there is a choice there is possibility of mistake. The solution is full information from knowledgeable people, not bigotry and not outlawing choices.

Other people's lives are, so long as they aren't harming others, are their business. Not ABM or Fox News or DeSantis.

The majority of kids who identify as (not claim to be) transgender do not change their minds. Sex assignment surgeries don't happen till 18, when they can make that choice. The other treatments can be mostly undone.

You have brought up both of these things in this thread previously, people far more knowledgeable than myself have answered you, I invite you read through this thread to find those replies.

But I will address your 2nd part because I find your "concern" to be very disingenuous.

You're claiming by your "legitimate question" that there is a division within the LGB and Trans communities.

Why do you actually care? These, if we are going to separate them into 2 groups, are groups that you have great disdain for. Groups that you openly support and advocate to have fewer rights than you do.

Let's review what you believe about members of these two groups.

You believe they should...

Not be allowed to be married.

Not be allowed to adopt.

Not have their existence be mentioned in schools.

Not allowed to use public restrooms.

Not allowed to have the medical care and treatments prescribed by medical professionals.

Not be allowed to play sports.

Your open disdain for these "two groups" is well documented.

And yet you're now honestly concerned what one group may or may not think about the other?

Sorry, I'm not buying it.

Of course there are transphobic cis gays.

It would be nice if that were not the case. But it's a diverse community and not all good people. There are LGBTQ people who are racist, who are misogynist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, xenophobic. There are even some like Peter Thiel and Chelsea Manning, who campaign against their own civil rights.

And then a homophobe quotes them and says aha, even gay people oppose civil rights! Vote DeSantis!

You believe they should...

Not be allowed to be married.

Not be allowed to adopt. - WRONG

Not have their existence be mentioned in schools. - WRONG

Not allowed to use public restrooms. - WRONG

Not allowed to have the medical care and treatments prescribed by medical professionals. CONCERNS WITH UNDERAGED IMPLICATIONS. WE SHALL SEE

Not be allowed to play sports. - IN SOME CASES - THIS IS A POTENTIAL CONCERN BY OTHERS IN HERE, AS WELL

You'd be mostly wrong

The worldwide association of SlyPokerAnimals thinks boomer conservative males like walking around with butt plugs.

What is your take on that as a card carrying boomer conservative? Do you recommend butt plugs?
Isn't The Worldwide Association Of SlyPokerAnimals made up largely of boomers?

I'm connecting the dots here...

We all should be in favor, if they prevent people from talking out of their backsides.
Some people have made a very good living that way...

Uhhm, what's your point? That probably applies to virtually 98% of the people in here, @Lanny notwithstanding.
Shit oh dear, don't lump me with intelligent people.
