What exactly in that book takes away childrens innocence in your opinion?

I agree with the high school student's response in the article twobullz posted.

“I’m here to oppose any books that sexualize kids,” who don’t have the maturity to deal with such subjects. “I personally have been harmed by such books in school."

The thing is this article is about the public library not a school library. The people who are trying to ban or move the books are trying to make it look like these books are in a school library and in children sections of the public library when in fact the books are they are complaining about are in the adult section of the library

NO ONE is harmed by books.
There is nothing in those children's books that sexualizes children.
Innocent does not equal ignorant. It is not evil for children to learn about their bodies.

For FUCKS SAKE you don't think I have been around long enough to know EVIL HOMOSEXUALS RECRUIT CHILDREN!!!!!!!!! when I see it?

You agree with it in the sense that you were harmed by books yourself, or you agree with it because you know 'the high school student' and can attest to his claim of harm?

I'm not finding either possibility very plausible. Unless maybe you were walking down the street once and someone threw a book out of a high window and it fell on you?

barfo

Uness maybe you were walking down the street once and someone threw a book out of a high window and it fell on you?

OK, I guess there is ONE way a book can harm someone.
But as a person who has literally read thousands, the worst any book ever did was bore me.

So should we just ban all books for kids then? Or is it just the icky people being mentioned that bothers you? Most books will mention if someone is a boy, or a girl. That's ok, but if they're trans, it isn't ok?

^^^ I also posed that question a little earlier...no answer.

"I wonder how many 3 year olds can actually read, and how advanced their vocabulary might be, not to mention cognitive thinking ?"

Kids who are hidden by paranoid parents from society and diversity more often than not end up joining the Manson Family as soon as they can get away from mom and dad...kid's who grew up next to the Manson family probably grew up knowing better than to trust those folks. Kids are so much smarter and adaptable than conservative, overly sheltered paranoid Karen's and MAGAtards are. For the umpteenth time....lock this stupid homophobic gender phobic thread. It's just turned into a punching bag at this point.

Then American Girl (Mattel) is stupid for listing them.

Your obvious disdain should be directed at the parents, since the book was actually "marketed" for parents and/or much older children, not "3 year olds".

So if the 3 year olds can't read the book themselves, that must mean their parents are reading it to them. Now, I just know that ABM isn't advocating that other people know better than a child's own parents, is he?!?!

So where are children sexualized in these books?

That's not what I asked.

You won't even tell us what exactly you don't like about that book.

Yes. I Did.

BTW, here's an updated article from your favorite publication. While their previous article identified the article as targeting kids as young as three, this updated version relates 10 and under.

Either, way, I'm with those other concerned folks that don't like the idea of influences outside the homes of children somehow trying to wrest away the natural/rightful responsibilities of their parents. Woke Leftism at its finest. Indoctrinate often and early.

"Natural"?...if you say so.

Those "natural/rightful responsibilities of parents" that you speak of, are not an exclusive one way street that belongs only to you and those who see things the same you... fortunately, those rights are also extended to others who see things differently than you.

Natural and right being defined as straight, cis, Chrisitan and Republican!

Again, I'm simply agreeing with those parents who are protesting this nonsense.

While telling other parents that you, not a parent, know better than they do what's right for their child.
