Besides the fact that if it was true who gives a shit (and better yet, why give a shit)...she's actually making the claim that they're *both* the opposite gender??

I can't even fathom what kind of mental gymnastics this lady is doing. Either she's fried her brain with some kind of drug abuse or she has a severe mental illness and presents typical to the world.

That's just such complete bat-shit crazy stuff. And that's not even addressing the low-key racism that she's doing...

The chamber voted 68-32 to bar state Rep. Zooey Zephyr (D) from being present on the House floor or in the anteroom or gallery — a move that comes after widespread outrage over Zephyr’s silencing led to heated protests at the Capitol on Monday. Zephyr will now only be allowed to attend sessions remotely for the rest of the legislative session, which ends next month.

Since Zephyr said last week that those who support banning gender-affirming care for transgender children would have “blood on your hands,” Republican leaders have declined to recognize her on the floor and her microphone has been disabled when lawmakers have debated. In response, Zephyr and her supporters held a rally Monday that resulted in seven arrests and upended proceedings at the Capitol as people jammed inside the chamber and kept chanting, “Let her speak!”

There's no way to win within the system. You can vote us in but there's always a way to just nullify our existence further up the chain. It's hard not to feel nihilistic about it, because revolution isn't coming so save us, and eventually, it'll be you under their heel too.
 
I really hate the gotcha jokes liberals do in reaction to literal fascism like come on can you have even a little outrage? Nope it’s “haha Jesus wore a dress too checkmate lmao” fuck that noise. Like pointing out the governor is a hypocrite will do anything?! These motherfuckers have been out here selectively applying laws since the 1600s! They fucking know and they don’t care!

I am outraged and disgusted and furious. But there is also absurdity. All the issues a state has to deal with and the governor worries about what a singer wears on stage?

I kinda understand what she's saying, though I think she's going to an extreme case (and the quote is misleading a little).

On the one hand, I think there ARE cases of kids who are unsure about things and make rash decisions about what they want to be or are (etc). BUT (please hear me out), that # is very small.

And maybe a better reaction to your daughter (or son) being suicidal (etc) is to get them the help they need, not talk to them (or about them) as if they're just being whiny about life. The last thing someone who is suicidal needs to hear is someone saying, basically, "you're wrong about this, and I'm going to make the choice for you".

Maybe listen to your kid, and take the steps necessary for them to be happy. And if you're correct, and it is a "phase", guess what? They'll still be able to be a healthy adult and have a successful life even if they are convinced at 14 they are in the wrong body and find out they weren't correct (or whatever).

One of my best friends has a son who is totally goth and dresses up goth...ish? like? not sure what the term is....and his parents are fine with it. They want their son to be who he is, even if that isn't what they were growing up.

Instead of pushing away their son, they let him know they accept him for who he is and they love him regardless. Granted, he's not making choices to change his gender (and dressing as goth isn't the same), but the point remains. Don't push away your kids because you're a stuck up bitch.
 
Nobody is walking into a doctor's office and getting estrogen or testosterone same day. Even here, where it's one of the easiest processes in the US, I had to get an appointment to see a doctor (which took weeks to wrangle) to get a referral to see a gender psychologist, do four sessions with the gender psychologist (which took weeks to wrangle and a month to do) before I could get a letter for my doctor so she could prescribe me HRT. Then and only then was I able to start on HRT. I started the process in February and had the hormones by May. I didn't see any results until July, and all of them were still reversible basically until the next February. That's an entire fucking year. These adults just don't want to be inconvenienced. They say they want their kids to have an easy life but really they don't want to be the parents of trans kids because it'd be inconvenient to them, so they just don't let their kids transition.

Because there tends to be this arrogance and intellectual superiority from liberals. They think Republicans are dumb, which is foolish because that massively underestimates their enemies. These people did the patriot act. They launched two wars. They took over the Supreme Court. They’re trying to outlaw abortion and equal rights for everyone. They steal our money. They steal our rights. To underestimate them is the fatal flaw of liberals. Democrats are paralyzed by fear. Fear of offending others. Fear of losing. That’s why we have Biden. They’re more afraid of losing than they are driven to truly win.

Which is exactly how my wife and I voted last time. Haven't regretted it one bit. My teen kids didn't have to wake up to hate speech being tossed around every single fucking day of their lives. For 4 years at least. I'd pay $50/gallon for gas to not have to live thru that again.

I'm not sure this is the flex you think it is as all those blue states span both ends of the political spectrum when it comes to voting patterns, but again this is a guy that doesn't know effect from affect and still struggles with his there/their/they're!
