I'm finally on board with firing Nate.

It's not really because I think Nate is a bad coach, but it's clear he isn't getting the team ready to play on the road. The players just aren't responding to his motivational tactics and frankly they're better than this. I hate doing change just for change's sake, but it's obvious something has to change. We legitimately earned 3 free throws last night. That is ridiculous.

I agree. I like Nate and think he's a quality person and coach. But at some point in time a team needs a new voice and a new direction. Now is our time. I wish Nate the very best with his next team.

I was ready for a different coach three seasons ago. We needed Sarge the first two years he was here. The third year, OK. Since then I have not been thrilled. This year I'm just worn down. He's bumming me out, man!

Not saying that you're not correct, but I don't see the connection between homers wanting Nate gone and it being pretty apparent that PA feels the same way. It will be really apparent that PA feels the same way if/when Nate is actually fired. Unlike us, PA can make that happen.

Not sure why you think Allen feels the same way? A change would be good so whatever interim coach we had could play guys like Nolan Smith and Elliott Williams to see if they are real NBA players or not. A coach fighting for his job can't do that

I think Nate wanted to be like Pop - Coach for Life.

Quitters quit. And he is not a quitter, etc.

Also, after coaching through his first couple seasons here, he has seen lots worse. It may not be as obvious to him as it is to us that the tumble down the hill is far more painful for fans than the long slog up the hill.

Disagree. I think Larry and Company are doing a great job of running the Blazers on the business and community side. Of course Larry has input on the players, but I think the interim GM's, scouts, and Paul are the ones making the final decisions.

fine, have them run a non-profit organization that helps the community then. They should not be making day to day decisions in this organization. team in the red. no GM. some of the worst injury and treatment of any team ever, yet the medical staff is still working here. its a culture of mediocrity.

I have been saying this for two years now:

The chances that this is ramdom bad luck is low.

However, even if it is "bad luck", it is a record of failure hanging over all participants heads. Athletes are in general superstitious, and giving them extra reasons to fear is bad business.

I said it then, and will repeat: Clean house based on results. Don't even worry about trying to asses what the cause(s) or bad luck or anything. Bad results = fired. Very simple.

Why? That's how the economy, and everyplace I've worked, works. At every other NBA team, a coach is replaced after 2 years unless he's shown something special and is well above average.

If you want a job for life, work for the government or the Portland Trailblazers.
