Exclusive I'm not sold on Dame/Ant

I love debating the blazers. What I got tired of debating was me and my outlook on the team. Or maybe it's my attitude. I don't know. I don't really care. I think I ended up blocking 4-5 people that always seemed to comment on me instead of the topic. Life is much better when you don't see those people. I usually make the mistake of clicking "show ignored content" because I see other people responding to them and I'm curious what they're responding to.
Blocking 45 people seems extreme and I'm never offended when people get excited in any way because of how they perceive me. Maybe you need to learn to take a compliment. And for fuck's sake 45 people?!?

4-5

Yeah, I knew... I just think that's funny to "misunderstand" on purpose. In real life, when you just corrected me I would have been like, "Yeah, I know forty-five is a lot of people." but I'm not trying to aggravate anyone in here just being a bit ridiculous.

The fact is that if we have a chance at any time to attain a game changing, already all star, two way wing that and the package has to include Ant but allows us to keep our perimeter depth, then we would have to do it. If had a chance to make a major upgrade at C by trading Ant and Nurk for someone who both stretches the floor more on offense, can better cover the perimeter and still be a post anchor on defense, then you do it.
Exactly who is this player you want? Marc Gasol retired. Is there another one? Wembenyama? Embiid? Are they available?

I'm not sure who will be available but I said an impact two way wing or an upgrade at C for a guy who is more mobile and/or spreads the floor on offense. That's a pretty wide net.

Ant + Nurk for Bam?

Ant + Little for Bridges?

Unlikely circumstances would have to happen for those kinds of opportunities to become available, but who knows. .

I think we need Paul George but I don't know who to acquire him, even if he somehow becomes available. I don't wanna let go of Sharpe.

well, yeah....that's the same argument that's been made over and over in this thread, and not everybody accepts it...that obvious. Problem with that argument is that nobody can come up with any realistic reason trading one of them would make Portland a contender any sooner than keeping both, although the closest argument would be trading Ant for a major upgrade at forward

I share your concerns. But I'd also say that a 30 year history isn't very instructive. With the way the game has been revolutionized by spacing and three pointers, it doesn't really matter what worked against Shaq or the 90s Pistons. It's just a different game.

Anyway, ideally, everyone on our teams had the same skills they already have, but were all 6'8. Problem is that's what every team wants, and there just isn't the talent out there available.

With Dame and Ant, we may have 2 of the top 5 volume three point shooters in the league. There's definitely a recent template for winning with that.

I'm definitely in the camp that Ant should be on the trading block pretty quickly if this isn't working in the playoffs, or even if an opportunity like Siakim comes along, though.

I don't want us to trade for 32 year old all stars who's best years are behind them.

We'd end up like this years Lakers.

Well, if by that you mean a team weighted down by massive contracts and old players after having won a title, well, sign me the fuck up for that! I'm absolutely about mortgaging our future if there's a near-certain contender like LeBron/AD were.

Their big mistake was not valuing shooting, and of course going all in on Westbrook. They picked the wrong past-his-peak All Star.

Yep. They got rid of their glue guys as well. Coruso was worth more to that team than they realized.

You know, it's funny. Every once in a while I click the "show ignored content" button and I see the posts/posters that I'm blissfully unaware of because I blocked their asses a long time ago. I have collected a nice following of people who have hate boners for me.

The funny thing is that I don't carry around weird infatuations with anyone on here. I read opinions and I comment on that opinion. I have never understood this weird obsession with hating specific posters. If you don't like someone, don't read them. Or better yet, ignore them. I have a few people on here on ignore because they always seemed to need to make it personal. "You're a hater. You're negative. Blah blah blah blah blah." I actually forgot about most of you on my list until I make the mistake of clicking "show ignored content."

I just picture them as one of those tedious people who call into the 5th quarter and ramble for several minutes about some asinine opinion that they have about the team.

Why cant i see this post???

Ant also averaging around 24ppg on .45/.42/.85 since those first three games. Also averaging 3.9 fts, which is respectable. I expect that number to climb higher by season’s end. Over 3.0rpg and 4.0apg.

Wow, didn’t realize how terrible those initial 3 games were for him.

The question is how does that compare to CJ.

Yeah, he's at 5.5 FTAs in the past 6 games.
Also interesting to see he's still getting up points even when his three isn't falling.

I think Ant's improving FT Rate is encouraging. It's still not good for somebody who handles the ball as much as he does, but he's not avoiding contact like it was leprosy like CJ did

it may be that expecting him to post a 3ptFG% over .400 is a little unrealistic. His norm may end up in the 38-39% range now that defenses are fully aware of him.

keeping with the thread topic...It's not encouraging that Nurkic sustained an injury 10 games into the season. Sometimes, an abductor (groin) injury takes weeks to fully heal. Hopefully, that won't be the case
