Maybe because he's taking shot at the city? Blaming the organization for his problems? This isn't a thread bashing Oden for his slow recovery or his absence from the team, this is thread about Oden venting his frustrations at the city of Portland and the team that drafted him. He absolutely deserves the animosity he's getting right now.

I guess I don't see what he said that was so terrible. "Portland isn't a great city to live in if you're a young, African American male with a lot of money." Do we know what he meant by that? Or are we all just inferring the most damning interpretation and assuming that we're right?

Where else in the article did Oden actually blame the organization for anything? The author blamed the Blazers for several things, but what did Oden say about them? Honestly, I think you're exaggerating even by saying that he's "venting his frustrations" at Portland and the Blazers.

I expect you to want to justify your hostility toward Oden, but I just don't see anything he's done that's worthy of it.

On a side note--I watched the ESPN 30 for 30 on Marcus Dupree the other day, and I couldn't help but see Oden in Dupree's story.

Nothing wrong with it. However, given the choice, I would prefer not to be

Just pointing out that I have nothing against black people just because I don't want the majority of my kids school to be black people. It's a choice, and like most poeple, I am more comfortable around people I identify with the most

I guess I need to find a majority Jewish gay community to raise my cats in so they don't feel different.

OTOH, I am in favor of being different.

Please tell me how you made the decision to be straight? Weighed all the options, pluses and minuses - you can get married, but you might produce a child by accident, etc. etc. Talked it over with friends and family. Researched on line. Read up on the subject. Talked to straight & gay folks about it. Then made a careful and conscious and calculated decision to be straight.

I think some people are assholes for the sake of being assholes. And that IS a choice.

CC, who are you talking to?

Made up something as fact? Calm down. Maybe I was incorrect in reading that, but it literally has nothing to do with how Greg himself felt when he saw this therapist talking to Blazer officials. I just find that bad form, especially in front of the players.

You're making a big deal out of nothing, when it was really Greg's perception is what I was talking about.

So a shrink that works with Greg was talking to Blazer management and that automatically means that they're breaking some kind of confidentiality clause? Do you booze? Because you and Greg seem pretty paranoid.

Dude. Fucking lighten up, it was a joke. I have stated many times in the OT forum that being gay is not a choice. Like men who like big breasts over big asses or whatever. It's simply what you are attracted to.

For fuck's sake iggy me if you are that sensitive

LMAO.

Perhaps BenDavis called Oden late at night, too. Maybe that's really how Oden hurt his knee - he was jumping out of bed late at night and injured it.

I never said that. At. All.

BG is worth explaining myself to, though. You're not. Bye.

I scratch what I posted about BG being worth explaining myself to.

Lates...my first ignore in a long, long time.

Oh you're ignoring me? How cute. I remember when you chastised STOMP endlessly for putting you on ignore.

Inconsistent.

LMAO. If that's all it takes..... It was a joke. You can dish it out, but you can't take it.

Ridiculous. If that's the game we play, I don't want you responding to my posts.

Some people (myself included) act like children on this board and just have fun. Other people literally are children.

I'm not ignoring you. You obviously have reading comprehension issues.

I explained my views on Oden's perception of seeing Carr talking with management. What they actually talked about is irrelevant to how Oden felt about it at the time.

I'll type more slowly, and use smaller words, for you in the future. Or, you could just learn how to process something other than linear logic.

I agree. That's how I knee it was a joke.

So I'm assuming CC was talking to me, not you. Because the icon made it obvious.

I thought she was talking to me because I don't believe you said anything like that. Either way, people need to laugh, and stop being so sensitive. One of the funniest things I ever saw was Don Rickles on Letterman many years ago. Denzel Washington was the first guest, and when Rickles walked out and saw Denzel sitting there, he said....without missing a beat "oh, are you here for the driver job?" Denzel said no sir. "Oh then, you must be here to clean up" Everyone, including Denzel was in tears

Papa has been a pompous, contradicting, joke for years now. He deserves every bit of shit that the board as a whole gives him back. If he wasn't so abrasive and didn't act like a coward behind a message board handle than everything would be fine and dandy.

The fact that this was the straw that broke the camels back though is hilarious.

I'm a coward, yet you've posted my name on the board, and won't post your own.

Mmmkay.

I'm not ignoring you. Why would I? You're as big as an asshole as I am, if not a bigger one.

My group of friends.... we have a saying that we introduce to people who aren't regulars of our little group: "We aren't racist - we HATE everyone equally."

We make fun of everyone, black/white/asian/hispanic, gay/straight, tall/short, fat/skinny..... Doesn't matter. But nobody gets bent out of shape. And any time any outsiders come join us, we make it clear how we operate. We don't need anyone blowing our buzz.
