I'm So SICK & TIRED of Neil Olshey (2 Viewers)

Isaac and Suke are the highest rated sports talk show in Portland and one of the higher rated local talk shows period. They may not be for everyone but in terms of advertising rates, they do quite well because of their ratings. Not sure why they would change their format to be less successful.

How does Neil still have a job... 18 mil for Evan Turner, 28 mil for CJ, 10 mil for Mo, 10 mil for Meyers... this is to be the worst collection of bad contracts in NBA history

5th highly payroll for a treadmill team and he refuses to make changes... NEIL IS A CLOWN

Washington would be an ideal match right now, and everyone knows they’re motivated to deal.

Porter, Oubre, and Morris could all help Portland. We have contracts to match and relieve Washington of Porter. We could swap Aminu and Morris. We have a TPE to take on Oubre.

Fuckin do something. This isn’t a 25 game sample. This is multiple seasons. Enough.

No shit. I love how you constantly repeat the basic ass shit that everyone knows, and then when someone calls you out on it you think they're disagreeing, so then you use that to call out the fanbase. LMAO.

And before you reply, look who started this thread.

Jason Quick "Neil not living up to promise of 'move the needle' moves."

Dumpster diving is Neil's preferred choice of operation.

He has never gotten over all the bad habits he learned working for Sterling. (or maybe those flaws are what got him a job with the Clips in the first place!)

I know that the Blazers' play of late makes it a great time to pile on onto Stotts and Olshey, but we at least ought to recognize that the start of NBA trade season really begins in a couple of days when summer FA contracts become tradeable. Maybe give Neil until the end of the year before we get the tar boiling and feathers ready for use?

I mean, sure. But it's not like he's only just recently made (or not made) questionable moves. His entire tenure here has been a mixed bag. You can't really take this season in isolation - there are years worth of reasons to fire Neil (and Stotts).

Nope. He's lost all right to a benefit of the doubt. It is (and has been) on him to quell the pitchfork-wielding masses by giving them a reason to blow out their torches.

:dunno: How often has Olshey made in season trades that have had a positive impact?

Just saying that things can't happen until they CAN happen. If he has a trade lined up that involves a summer FA contract, either coming in or going out, that CAN'T happen until the 15th. OTOH, if he doesn't have anything teed up in the way of a move to improve the roster, then I'm all for calling for his head on a platter. He's responsible for putting together a second unit that isn't able to score.

Well you know, a lot of free agents were signed using exceptions rather than cap space, and they can't be dealt until January 15th. So we actually should reserve judgment until then.

And of course, many GMs hold out until the trade deadline, just to make sure they get the best deals. Probably shouldn't jump to conclusions on Neil until that point.

Not to mention that those 2016 signings will be expiring deals as of this summer. Shouldn't we give him the opportunity to make the most of those transactions?

Whenever there's a reason to act, there's always an opposing reason to wait. I'm tired of waiting for Neil to "move the needle".

I am not sure its your choice though. We might all complain about it, but we’ll be waiting until PA’s sister makes a decision. She may decide to do basically nothing for the next 10 years its her choice.

Agreed. But I'm also resigned to the fact that no meaningful changes will happen until this summer. (Unless you count trading Harkless as being meaningful.)

I'm not sure about that rule. Curry is eligible to be traded on December 15th not January 15th and Olshey used part of the MLE to sign him. I think that is only when you sign your own free agents to an exception like bird rights.

Ahh...I missed it. It's if a signing meets the BYC criteria that it's January 15th.

Whoa, Neil IS in trouble! It’s not that easy to tick off a platypus, but mission accomplished!

Right? When one of the most level headed dudes around here is fed up... its getting really serious!
Don't worry--I'm leaving tomorrow for 7 days in Anaheim. Except for the Blazers/Clippers game I'll be attending, I'm expecting to have a great time. Then I'll come back, and have Christmas Eve and Christmas in Portland. I'll be back to my normal even-keeled self in short order.
Plus by that point, we'll be like 14th in the conference, so the season will basically be over anyway. :shitstorm:

Well at least by then we can start talking about our odds to get the #1 pick!

Here’s the problem. Yes we need trades, but we have a GM who doesn’t want to move his best assets. CJ and Zach are probably off the table. Would it really surprise anyone if he was still a fan of Meyers?

The second problem is the luxury tax. Look at the moves in the past year or so. They were all done with the bill in mind. Adding to it doesn’t seem realistic, based on the evidence.

We’re fucked.

Then he'll use that Crabbe TPE that he touted after we got rocked in the playoffs?!? Oh wait...nevermind.

I don't even think blame needs to be cast. Even if Olshey has tried his damnedest, it isn't/wasn't enough. We just need a new set of eyes on this roster and new approach.
