Olshey on 620am with Dwight Jaynes in about 20 minutes. Anyone got any guesses as to what he'll say during his interview?

If Dwight actually asks him about the TPE, I'll be super impressed.

First, because he actually understands what a TPE is, and second for actually questioning Neil's actions.

I just heard Dwight say: "There's a lot of things that Evan Turner can do that Wade Baldwin can't. That's just a fact."

I would love for him to elaborate on that.

He looks like a shooter alright.

On another note: It bugs me when they show a guy shooting free throws on highlight vids. Unless it's a game winner, a free throw is not a highlight.

Come on, Dwight. Ask the followup. The worry with Wade is for next summer-- not this one.

Hey, give Dwight credit--he actually asked about the trade exception. But big shock, Neil's already making excuses for why it won't get used.

Ya, he ain't using that TPE. Too much chatter about tax implications etc. Building those excuses already.

ugh

I don’t work for CSN or NBC or whatever they are called now. I work for the team. I also don’t follow any local media on any social media platform except Freeman.

Do you like Kerry Eggers? He's the best local guy imo.

I don’t know how I feel about Stauskus besides the timing seemed crappy that night. However guys like him do tend to play better when they have guys Like Dame or CJ that will get most of the attention.
He sure hasn’t been good so far not denying that, but I don’t think Pat was very good either.
Stauskus played on the worst 76ers team of all time (and that's saying something), where he was injured a lot, then last year for the Nets. I'm going to hold out judgement on him for the reason you stated: Nic really should get much better looks spotting up on the Blazers, and his shooting stroke is marvelous.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. etc.

I couldn't care less whether NO uses the TPEs or not. All I want is results and that basically means finding a wing or PF upgrade. If he can do it by trade, great because there are fewer salary issues. That said, I'm not going to be shocked if he stands pat with what he's done so far this off-season. I won't be happy, but I won't be shocked.

After telling us how big of an asset it is for a year you wouldn’t care if he doesn’t use it?

Like I said, all I care about is results. I thought he was blowing smoke when he made those claims. I think that he thought the combination of cap relief plus the Blazers' first rounder would attract a deal, but that blew up on draft day.

On paper, the roster as it stands is worse than the one that was swept out of the playoffs in April. And it's more expensive as a results of some extensions.

lost: Ed, Shabazz, Pat
got: Curry, Stauskas, Simons, Trent

Internal improvement be damned, but this notion that we got worse is fairly irrefutable.

He's either a terrible negotiator or the league has gotten smarter in general. Probably a bit of both.

I understand the results are what matters more than anything, but I do find it annoying he kept telling us it was valuable asset but isn’t going to use it, that’s not good business. I care about the results too, but it does annoy me at least a little bit.

This team has a very real chance of not making the playoffs next year.

That’s true of every Western Conference team except the Warriors and Rockets (barring injuries). It’s going to be a dogfight this year.
