Seriously. I've been on Blazer message boards since rec.sports.basketball.pro, then ESPN, then BBB, and now here. And I can honestly say that the level of reactionary paranoia and inane bitching has never been as high and as grating as it is now. Maybe it's the evolution of the sports fan on the internet, who thinks more and more that his/her opinion matters, that someone is listening, and that spewing the split-second emotional gut blast is somehow therepudic and benificial to not only themselves but to the team they are rooting for.

I'm done, at least for a good long while. I'm going to enjoy watching the Blazers play. I'm going to revert to an earlier, simpler time when every nuance, every play, every alledged plot against someone's favorite player, or suspected vendetta by the refs against... anyone, isn't argued and argued and argued about, since it matters about as much as that piss I took ten minutes ago.

Mods, feel free to suspend or delete my account. I'll check back in a few days, so if you don't think you can do that without my specific instruction, PM me for verification.

I didn't feel like Chris_In_PDX really had the hydraulic pressure I was hoping for during that piss ten minutes ago. I feel like if KP hadn't thrown Chris' penis under the bus and brought him in some help, we could have had the explosive, high pressure pee we were hoping for. Frankly, his kidney's are a bust and I just don't think his Uric acid content is going to cut it and...oh, right you meant it WASN'T relevant. My mistake.

There's always been a division here and at BBF, but usually right down one line. Usually it was all pro one player or another at the same position. Now it's become a pissing match to see who can put up the most negative posts about the player they don't like (or the coach they don't like). Go through some time, objectively, and look at all of the posts from a couple of particular people. Do your own +/- scoring and see what you come out with. I think you'll be somewhat surprised. Maybe not. Maybe you relish in gang-bang criticizing people out of existence.

I am a Blazer Homer 100%. But I am also a realist. And for someone to come in a "public board" with people with every right to bitch at the coach, players, management or other opinions is what a "public forum" is all about. And to say that the mods should ban him is throwing the biggest tantrum I've seen since Jetrage had when we traded Zblow.

It's uncalled for and basically silly. We are in a public forum discussing Blazers. Good or Bad. I can bitch about Nate all day long, especially when I see Oden only getting 5-7 shots a game shooting 60% from the field.

chris left because he didnt like the content of the site. its his right. if i want to poke fun at it thats my right. i sent him a pm before i even posted that asking him to come back soon and i hate to see a poster leave, etc. and i meant it.

Moderators are first and foremost posters. Moderators should, like all posters, be respectful and have fun while bringing value to the board.

barfo and I are the only moderators of this forum that have commented so far. I don't think that lightly mocking someone for giving a farewell address is failing to exhibit maturity and leadership.

Remember, too, that the OP was just encouraging people to take a break and it is probably wise to take one's own advice. Of course, calling everyone "blowhards" on the way out doesn't really do anyone any good.

maybe your opinion on the role of moderators will one day drive you to go to another board? don't make the mistake of assuming that people care about your expectations or opinion... it will only get your feelings hurt.

if you haven't noticed, this community is rude, why would the moderators be any different?

You nailed it right on the head. Why does totally myopic radio hosts like Stern, Rush and Cowherd get such good ratings? It's mainly because people don't like what they say and want to disagree with him. It's human nature to be argumentative. Would anyone want to be married to themselves? I wouldn't. It would be boring as hell.
