It's keto but no macros. I've had a pound of ground beef in one sitting. Keto would limit me to 135g of protein.

I'm certainly eating 15-20g of carbs a day, and for sure I'm in ketosis.

I won't eat any of the Atkins foods. Really expensive, and by my net carbs calculation they're super high carbs.

My gf and I have been doing Adkins for the last 2 weeks with really good results. 14days, 16lbs. I'm pleased with a pound a day.

Some of the Adkins deserts are awesome.

160 Calories, 2g Carbs for the peanut butter cups. They're $4.50 for five 2 packs. Considering that a 2 pack of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups are $.88 the Adkins cups are the same as a regular candy bar.

Huge pro tip!

Almond flour! Almond flour! Almond flour! That's flour made from ground up almonds.

Biscuits! Pan cakes! Cheese crackers! Recipes all over the internet. Denny, you found 16g buns, Try 2g big cheese biscuits for your burgers. Almond flour cheese crackers are quick to bake.

I eat a handful of almonds 2-3 times a day. Sugar free jello is 0 carbs.

Almond and coconut flour are a big deal for low carb diets. Flax seed, too.

Not a fan of the coconut flour. The almond bakes better. Haven't tried the flax.

I eat sugar free jello too. The cups are a nice treat.

I use flax seed in smoothies and with gluten free old fashioned rolled oats.

Rolled oats is off my diet. 67g of carbs per cup . Even 1/4 is most of a days carbs for me.

I don't have the rolled oats every day. I usually consume a 1/4 cup dry (about 16 g carbs) once every 4 or 5 days.

They say 150g of carbs is low carb diet. It certainly is low if you consider what people not on diets eat.

Almonds are 6g carbs, 3g fiber for net 3. For me.

That is exactly what this package of blue diamond non seasoned/salted whole almonds has for nutritional information.

They sell seasoned, but if I want a little flavor I put some hot sauce on them, lol.

Lost about 15 pounds over the last 5 weeks. Doctor has me on a 1700 calorie diet. It sucks, but I only have to lose about 25 more.

Aardvark sauce on nuts is the frigging best!

Still doing the low carb diet and still liking it. Shorts I bought last year now fall off if I don't wear my belt, and belt tightened all the way.

I got ketostix at CVS yesterday and the test strip says I'm truly in ketosis. I got the science right.

The more I do this diet, the more expansive the menu. I've been able to find keto friendly meals at most of the local restaurants. I stay away from sauces that aren't mustard or mayo based; I ask them to serve that on the side. I ask for extra steamed veggies instead of potatoes or rice.

We go out for breakfast on Sundays. IHOP mixes pancake batter in their eggs for omelettes, so I ask them to use shell eggs. I don't trust Denny's so I ask for shelled eggs there too.

Some of the keto diet info sites say it's ok to cheat for a day a week or for a meal once in a while.

I've not been tempted to cheat yet, but I probably will eat some stuffing on a Thanksgiving day or have a pizza once in a great while.

I've been on a low carb diet with one cheat day a week where I can eat anything I want. I've lost 35 pounds in approximately three months. Potato products, ice cream, and Mexican food are usually my cheat foods.

I'm doing this based on the "Slow Carb Diet" Tim Ferris is promoting, but I'm not taking all the supplements or doing any of the fat burning tricks. It's just a re-packaged Atkins/South Beach diet really with a bunch of weird fat burning tricks; like hot and cold showers, and working out just before meals and stuff like that.

I'll look into it.

http://www.food.com/recipe/one-minute-flax-muffin-low-carb-295649

Low carb flax seed meal muffins.

I modified the recipe because I don't want the carbs from the cinnamon. Instead, I use 1/4 teaspoon of trader joe's cocoa powder.

6.8 G carbs, 6.4 G Fiber. Almost net 0. Awesome way to get fiber in your diet. I've been shooting for 25G but even with supplements (Benefiber), I was having trouble getting even to 15.

You're making good progress so far!

I'm pleased. The idea of losing a lot of weight fast seems scary to me. What I'm doing is losing about 4 lbs a month in recent months. That's since I started low carbs.

I ate at a restaurant last night. I had 7oz of broiled salmon with green beans, and a salad with ranch dressing. Then I came home and made one of those muffins :)

So here's a good question for anyone who's doing the low carb thing.

Thanksgiving is coming up. Do we cheat? I mean, eat the stuffing and yams and cranberry stuff?

I probably will cheat for the one meal, though I haven't yet.

My wife wants to go out for a chicago style pizza for our anniversary coming up, and that's a cheat opportunity, too.

Cheat days work great, you will be surprised. But they only work if the next day you are back hard core.

I may just eat turkey and greens, we'll see ;)

Anyhow, here's something REALLY interesting.

This was my blood pressure just a few weeks ago (machine at CVS):

And here's yesterday's reading:

I don't feel much different. I just ran 2 miles, and walked another 3 and I'm not very winded or light headed as low blood pressure would suggest.

I lost about 25 pounds in 3 months going with a low carb diet. I usually give myself one flex meal each week. However, I don't gorge myself like some people would on a Thanksgiving Day meal.

I will eat a little yams and cranberry sauce and refrain from having mac & cheese, potatoes, and stuffing.

From what I've been reading, one camp says cheat once in a while is fine, the other says live the lifestyle and cheating costs you a week or two weeks of ketosis.

FWIW
