I've told you this many times before, this is a Blazer forum. If you are looking for this site to satisfy your love of Trump or any political candidate or leader then you are going to be very disappointed. If people are leaving because their Trump needs aren't being satisfied in a basketball forum then it's probably for the best they moved on to a place that does.

A song for the occasion, perhaps?

I see Sly. And I get it.
No need for this form to satisfy any need as to Trump supporter. I sure don't.

But, when these assholes want to insult a Trump supporter, then the targets are few in this forum to be sure. I can't say for sure, but I don't know of more than one left that will readily admit to it for sure.

Tell you what! As a basketball fan, I think I shall come to the next get together you manage to put together, I think it has been 12 years now since it did. I sort of like it. Time to do it again.
You can point out to him out, who is the Trump supporter at the get together. Perhaps he didn't mean it as an insult. Probably not the first time.
He is not the only one though, they no doubt will out number the Trump supporter.

You do realize your post contains personal insults, right?

And any more posts about confrontations, fights, or threats against members at forum events and I will ban you.

....and that wouldn't be a slyte exaggeration! :smiley-svnikola:

fights, or threats

>>>There was not one threat. No fight suggested.

I will ban you.

So you can do what I suggest or not, as I probably will come, and that is not a threat.
If you ban me, I probably will not come.
You moderate the forum as you see fit. But from my view, I see no reason on earth for a Blazer Basketball fan posting "Fuck anyone who voted for this piece of shit", crude reference to Trump. Simple as that. Not difficult at all.

Now, you do as you must.
Carry on!

I'm pretty sure many of us said this said that when @THE HCP said he was voting for Kobe to be a starter on the All Star team.

I did not. And I do not recall if any did. It would not be in my nature to say this about anyone, voting on anything. Even if I can not imagine voting for Kobe in any case.

I know you and I could go round and round on this but isn't that racism, stereotypes, homophobia, etc, etc. I love the work you do and what you put up with is pretty astonishing sometimes, but group insults are just as bad IMO as a personal one, because a group insult is a personal insult it's just a way to insult a bunch of people personally in a quicker way.

I get wanting to cut down on moderating all of us like were adolescents, but essentially to me its saying, racist homophobic, sexist comments, etc, etc are ok. Just dont single out one person.

Anyways thats enough derailing for me.

It wasn't a racist, homophobic, or sexist comment. Seemed somewhat inclusive actually. That said, I saw it and considered editing it because it felt a bit too much. But, there is no rule against grouponal insults. I have advocated for one in the past, but ultimately we decided the less moderation the better. It is still something we are talking about though and open to looking at.

Fuck all Laker fans!

Ha!
Well, I never post that either. But then, I have never seen anyone express feeling insulted when some do. Who the hell ever votes for a Laker? In a Blazer forum? Perhaps I have said, Fuck the Lakers! But not the fans.

Geez!
Would dipstick fit better?

Well, you can remove your head and try the dipstick if you want. It's your orifice after all.

I hate gun rage! All those fuckers who think shooting someone is a solution ….same with pedophiles...hate them all! I love my stereotypes.....doesn't make me a racist or homophobe...it's why standup comedy is so important to balance when it comes to social issues....talking about "wives or husbands or lovers"....those are great fuel based on stereotypes for humor and understanding....pointing out foolish behavior by making fun of it..Frank Zappa..George Carlin...satirists are great for a free society...they don't exist in North Korea

ironic that our ultra conservative wants more moderation. It’s like have our very own big government here in the OT!

I get what you're saying and it is an ongoing discussion and concern with staff.

Here's the problem, how do we write a rule that is fair, easy to understand, and easy to enforce?

I see posts in here insulting both liberals and conservatives as a group.

But also I see posts insulting Laker, Duck, and Beaver fans.

Do we put a ton of qualifiers on which groups can be insulted or not insulted?

But more importantly, does the occasional group insult cause long ugly arguments between two people that will cause hard feelings and ruin a thread for everyone? That's pretty much the reason for the Personal Insult rule. It derails threads and it ends up being a bunch of crap that everyone but the two people who are going at it don't care about.

All of that said, if group insults become a problem then we will address it. But right now it's more of an annoyance than a problem.
Absolutely understand, and I realize that this particular post wasn't exactly any of the things I listed, but I think this is an instance that "slippery slope logic" could be applied. No disrespect to you or other mods intended, I just find this, loophole in the rule kind of bothers me. I know you guys have a fun unpaid job lol.

No disrespect felt. Oh it bothers us too. There are points where it becomes real obvious posters are using the group insult as a loophole to get around the rules. We will step in on case by case basis to stop that if we see it per rules 9 and 11.

Fair, and I'm not sure even sure I need "more" or "less" moderation, I just find the loophole weird.

directed toward MarAzul.
Ah, I see since it was a reply to CC's reply to me I thought it was intended to me, I apologize.

I find it wierd too. If it were completely up to me I might have closed the loophole long ago. As it is I work together with other mods with differentiating ideas. I enjoy the diversity of thought and respect them all. Slys reasoning makes sense to me. And sometimes you have to work across the aisle. And, like I said it is something we are continuing to work on.

Yeah I figured he was speaking about MarAzul. Your conservative but not ultra...you seem more moderate actually.

I always thought I was a republican til the last 2-3 elections. I'm not on board with a lot of the socialist ideals, and really far "left", but I do appreciate and respect the talking points and more and more understand why people would think that way. It's not for me though. I have a pretty passionate dislike for the two-party system though, I think it stinks. I'd say moderate is probably about right, maybe conservative, but not a republican lol.

Welcome to reality and normalzie.

Wow... I'm ultra-conservative now if you say so...

Yep Calvin was thinking of me. I got it. But you see, I did not ask for more moderation. I simply responded to @ehizzy3 nastiness also directed at me, with my own nastiness acceptable to me.
I would be pleased to leave it out, if I did not sense it when aimed my way or toward any other possibility, damn few they maybe. No more moderation needed. We probably communicated. Time will tell.

Carry on!

There aren't enough to fill a starting basketball roster here but I think if you got one more you'd have 5

Perhaps you assume a few. I know of no other that state they voted for Trump.

I think eJizzy accomplished what he set out to do. Cause a big fight and then watch from the bushes.
