I still like mine better.....it not only moves...it compacts.....making protester pizzas

Sorry. Drawing the line here.

When you do not get a permit for a public gathering and a road closure and you stand in force in traffic blocking the commuters, you are not a protester. You are a criminal who has taken people hostage.
This is not debatable. This is the law.
It didn't seem to matter that the Bundy's did essentially the same thing and they got off....just sayin'....

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I had some games at the MAC Club so I was present for the protests at the square. They were nothing but peaceful. I got a random hug from a random white lady who said she was concerned for my safety in the years ahead.

THOSE DAMN MILLENNIALS WHO DIDN'T VOTE DID THIS SHIT.

But @Orion Bailey, where does it say in the 1st Amendment that you need a permit? :dunno:

That was a terrible move. It basically paved the way for every lunatic to think they can just take over any business or occupy any territory that is not theirs and get away with it.

I should have worded that better. Yes we have the right to assemble peacibly. Marching through traffic is not peaceful. I have no quelms nor care about those sitting in pioneer square. This is all about those putting lives in danger by blocking traffic.
You must get permits for road closures, parades and gatherings that will require road closures.
Again. Go gather on the capital where we elected the official who gets to vote for the president. Don't interfere with your neighbors lives when they might very well have the same viewpoint but just want to get home to their families.
In my opinion there is no defending this completely selfish and hypocritical act.

Yeah, I disagree. There is no mention of where you can assemble and blocking a street is not violent.

They should be protesting in Salem at the capital building...buss down there or even DC....I don't get the msg in clogging traffic for working folks, forcing them to pay attention to you....I think that should be a choice at least during times of peace

You can't tell people where they can peaceably assemble.

Do you really believe you are in danger? Like all of a sudden the KKK is going to rise again and start lynching blacks? I swear, these left-wingers are being so over-dramatic, it's silly. (not meaning you in particular)

I think the choice of a place to assemble is my point, not the peaceful assembly...if you want to send the msg....do it at the steps of govt...not in front of Kia motors or the Moda Center.....I understand they can, but don't think they should

Yes. If they start doing stop and frisk everywhere.

We're afraid just like white people are deathly afraid of 2050.

We have a 24 hour new cycle and everyone has a camera. You can assemble wherever you want.

This is how a stadium of soccer fans in Turkey responded to a moment of silence that was being held for the terror attacks in Paris. Mind you, Turkey is considered a moderate Muslim nation, and this was a gathering of regular sports fans, not some fringe radical mosque.

What's your point? It's their right to boo. It's deplorable but they have a right to say what they want.

It shows the mindset of so called mainstream moderate Muslims. The left is always trying to act like radical Islam is some fringe movement while rank and file Muslims are peaceful and denounce terrorism.

Why is it so easy for you to group people together and paint them with a broad brush? Then when it's done to you you get butthurt.

Here I'll do you one (or 6 million) better.

Hitler was Christian so....

See how stupid it is?
