PORTLAND, Ore. (November 11, 2016) Portland Trail Blazers and Portland Winterhawks fans are strongly encouraged to arrive at the Rose Quarter early and plan ahead for venue entry tonight since both teams have home games. Moda Center doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the Trail Blazers game and the Veterans Memorial Coliseum doors open at 6 p.m. for the Winterhawks game.

The Rose Quarter will feature several food and beverage options for fans upon arrival. Dr. Jack’s opens at 4 p.m., while the Pyramid Taproom will open its doors at 4:30 p.m.

The following are suggestions for managing travel to the Rose Quarter:

·Consider Alternative Transportation – With added capacity on busy event nights, MAX Light Rail and TriMet bus service frequently travel through the Rose Quarter transit center. For schedules, fares and route information, visit www.trimet.org.Due to large game-night crowds, please allow extra time for your transit choice.

·Bicycle Access to Rose Quarter – With 30 racks and capacity to secure 300 bicycles, Rose Quarter guests are welcome to ride bicycles to the venue.

·Pedestrian Foot Traffic – With some of Portland’s most accessible and progressive neighborhoods located nearby, guests are welcome to walk to Rose Quarter events.

·Parking Garages and Surface Lots – Parking Garages and parking facilities adjacent to the Rose Quarter will be available for a parking charge. Due to limited spaces, guests are encouraged to consider alternative transportation means or carpool. When choosing any Rose Quarter parking option, guests are reminded to remove or store valuables out of sight, and lock their vehicles.

And plan for the hostage situation.

They are not protestors, they are law breaking terrorists taking people hostage.

The vast majority were protesters and tried to stop the idiots from damaging things.

Sorry. Drawing the line here.

When you do not get a permit for a public gathering and a road closure and you stand in force in traffic blocking the commuters, you are not a protester. You are a criminal who has taken people hostage.
This is not debatable. This is the law.

Tell me a meaningful mass protest in human history that was "lawful".

I'm not technically disagreeing with you, and I'm not entirely in favor of the means in which the protesters chose to express themselves, but when you are protesting the power structure and the status quo, when is it "legal"?

They could refuse to stand for the national anthem...

Its legal when you get a permit. Its easy. You apply. It happens all the time.
Not 100% sure its legal, but to go "Protest" on the capital you know, where we elect our representatives that chose the president?, Sounds like a much more sound idea. than ruining people evenings, many of whom voted for Hilary too.

My wife works downtown. You dont think this is serious?

The police not arresting these criminals is whats causing this to escalate. Its causing people like myself to want to take action into our own hands instead of be patient because we can see law enforcement ENFORCING the law....

It's possible to break a law in a non-violent, non-destructive manner as a form of protest. There's a big difference between making salt from sea water, to protest an unfair tax on salt, and random, senseless destruction of personal property because you didn't get what you wanted. Although Gandhi, and several other members of the Indian National Congress were jailed multiple times, India ultimately achieved independence from British rule though nonviolent acts of civil disobedience. It's possible, and generally much more effective, to protest in mass without being a bunch of clueless asshats.

I've refrained from commenting on politics in this forum, but as the parent of a gay daughter, I was very proud that Portland was the least red major city in this election (outside of Washington DC). Trump only got 17.6% of the vote in Mulnomah County. He did better in Seattle (21.6%), San Francisco (19.1%), Los Angeles (23.4%) and Boulder, CO (21.9%).

Now this. I have gone from being proud of my city to being embarrassed by the actions of a few people who are doing much more to hurt their "cause" than to help it. Fucking idiots. This is EXACTLY what Trump and his followers want - something that makes their side look like the sane and reasonable ones.

If you're worried about getting to the game...just rent one of these...problem solved
