It's alot for a 4th liner but he's so reliable and can slot higher if necessary. I think they'll make it work in the 3.5m range for another 3y. It also will give them another option to expose in the Seattle draft.

Said as soon as they got Lafreniere that bringing back Fast was huge and Buchnevich never fit. Thing about Fast is that he's always one of our best playoff guys. He raises his offense in the playoffs. Honestly, Skjei needs to be pummeled the first game the teams play each other next year. That tone needs to be set.

Lafreniere will be as good or better than Eichel in 2y, at 8m less.

Agreed, we cannot deal a potential stud who is cost controlled for years for Eichel and his big salary, especially with a flat cap the next 2 or 3 years. Make the # 1 pick, deal the 22nd pick and Buch or Chytil in a package for a # 2 C or a very good LD to pair with Trouba.

I am starting to think we go after a LD to pair with Trouba over the # 2 C. Re-sign Strome to play with Panarin and Kakko. Lafreniere plays with Ziban and Buch (or Kreider if we deal Buch). 3rd line is Gauthier and Chytil/Kreider, and maybe you sign a solid vet to play with them. And you have Barron, Howden, Lemieux on the 4th line.

That's a solid team, and D was our issue not scoring. And with kids like Lafreniere and Kakko, to go along with studs like Panarin and Ziban, and players like Kreider and Strome, our O should continue to produce. And that doesn't include Chytil or Buch, solid players like Howden and Lemieux and Gauthier. And I have to think Kravtsov comes up at some point during the season.

I think Gorton and JD are thinking about a 4th line of Howden-Richards-Fast. Our 4th line has sucked for years. Richards was consistently one of the best defensive forwards in college and is very strong on draws. That could be the best 4th line we have had since the Boyle days.

I put Barron higher than the 4th line. I see him as a third liner. No Quinn has this love affair with Fast so I doubt he starts him on that line but I suspect he will end up there sooner or later.

Very disappointed in Henrik unless he has an agreement where he plays one game and then agrees to go home the rest of the year and they pay him his salary. Unless he's so full of himself that he can't see, he should know that he's not as good as either of the two youngsters at this point.

Sounds like it is heading towards a buyout, which quite frankly isn't ideal for us as we save only 3 mill against the cap, and have a 1.5 mill penalty the following season.

Colorado has to be loving that. I didn't know Toews was that highly regarded, for some reason i thought he was just a Bridgeport filler since they had injuries.
