Sean Duffy, a 25 year-old from the UK, has been jailed for 18 weeks for his actions, making him the first person to face time in prison for his offensive words online.

Duffy sent a string of messages directly to some of the teenagers’ families, wrote hurtful messages on memorial pages their friends had set up and also created his own YouTube and Facebook accounts in an attempt to mock their tragic deaths.

The court ruled that once Duffy is released after his 18 week sentence he will not able to access any kind of social networking site, including Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and Bebo ever again

You have been banned from the internet.

Good day, sir.

I see no crime here.

Unless they got a restraining order and he violated it.

MIXUM is Sean Duffy, correct?

Ridiculous. What ever happened to "Sticks and stones..."?

The Malicious Communications Act 1988 is a British Act of Parliament that makes it illegal in England and Wales to "send or deliver letters or other articles for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety".

Who would be the first one from this place to be banned if they read posts on here?

One of a myriad of reasons the UK will never be taken seriously.

Clearly, internet trolling and name-calling is more heinous than decades of repeated child molestation:

Repeat Child Molester Accused of Assaulting 7-Year-Old London Girl
AM980 News

5/30/2011

A 42-year-old man, with multiple convictions related to the sexual assault of children, has been charged by London Police following an encounter with a 7-year-old girl
.

42-year-old Daniel Swarath, from Sarnia, is charged with one count each of invitation to sexual touching, exposing genitals to person under 16 years of age and paying for the sexual services of a person under 18.

Police say Swarath had never had any contact with the victim prior to the alleged incident, however, the 42-year-old has been convicted of similar offences in the past.

In 2008, he was sentenced to one year in jail after being found guilty of sexual interference with an 11-year-old girl. The court heard the man was in the community swimming pool in Petrolia when he repeatedly pulled the girl’s hand onto his genitals, both in the water and later the same day at his home.

Swarath has prior convictions for similar sexual offences in 1996 and 1990.

In 2009, Swarath was charged with thirteen sex offences against girls aged five to 11.

The incidents allegedly occurred from the mid to late 1990s when Swarath was associated with the now-defunct Sarnia Church of God which allegedly allowed him access to the complainants.

Those charges involved two girls - now in their mid-teens to early twenties.

They've been of no consequence ever since the shepherds of the Falkland Islands kicked their scrawny ass.
