Obama's America

Julian Bond, former NAACP head, with his idiotic and racist ideas on MSNBC.

This guy is one of the heroes of the left and was one of the most powerful black men in America just a few years ago.

ABC News’ Trey Hardin: West Wing Of White House Authorized IRS-Gate Targeting

Trey Hardin: “I will tell you this on the IRS front. I’ve worked in this town for over 20 years in the White House and on Capitol Hill and I can say with a very strong sense of certainty that there are people very close to this president that not only knew what the IRS were doing but authorized it. It simply just does not happen at an agency level like that without political advisers likely in the West Wing certainly connected to the president’s ongoing campaign organization.”

Who thinks Obama may get impeached?

With the scandals we know about now - extremely unlikely.

The chance of there being an e-mail or recording of Obama personally ordering the Bengazhi stand down, Bengazhi talking points rewrites/lies, IRS harassment of Tea Party groups, DOJ wiretaps of AP is virtually zero. Without that kind of smoking gun, no impeachment.

This is just speculation.

Speculation I have already made. So it is not very enlightening. Except, I guess, to those who have had their head in the sand about the Obama Admin.

Is this guy offering anything of substance?

Even if he did order the Bengazhi stand down, the talking points to be changed, the IRS to scrutinize certain applications, etc., it doesn't come close to impeachable offenses.

Even if there's a recording of Obama talking to the ambassador on the phone telling him he's going to die and no help was on the way, there's no crime.

The wiretaps of the AP is trivial to argue as legit under the patriot act provisions.

I am no Obama supporter. I'm not out to see him impeached without any cause. And I'm not looking for cause even. It's a good thing we have at least the house as republican so there is some scrutiny and oversight of the executive branch. Maybe they will find cause and my opinion will change.

You are wrong.

Very, very wrong.

IRS harassment of political actors, for example, violates the Constitution, which the President is sworn to uphold. Impeachable offense.

Heh. Angry they were so absurdly ham-handed in doing EXACTLY WHAT HE ASKED THEM TO DO. (indirectly in his comments, speeches and constant complaints and berating's and publicly calling out of and whining about and denigration of right wing groups and figures.) He is the leader. Take some fucking responsibility for your leadership Barak.

It isn't harassment. And it doesn't violate the constitution. If you think it does, show me where :)

Harassment requires an element of threats and demands. In this case, the groups wanting to be 501(c)4 could have raised all the money they wanted as a for-profit organization and spent it in near unlimited fashion.

Denny, is this still a non-issue in your opinion?

I didn't say it's a non-issue. I said it's absurd to compare to watergate or to make it out like it's reason to impeach.

Didn't I say the people in the IRS involved would be fired? Obama just announced the top guy in the IRS was asked to resign and it's a done deal.

I'd say your following post was dismissing the topic as a non-issue.

Denny Crane said:
I'm really looking for what your complaint is. You seem to be making a similar complaint to your last wait at the DMV being a little long.

Again, as far as the evidence shows right now, the IRS went after people trying to cheat on taxes. Gosh, what a concept!

I asked what YOUR complaint is. What did you want to see done about it?

The IRS did go after people trying to cheat on taxes.

This guy has been the IRS head for a year, yet the targeting goes back for 2/2011.

HAHA! Don't trip yourself while backpedaling.

Odd that you avoid answering the questions. What is your complaint, and what do you want to see done about it.

My position is that these organizations (and many on the left, too) shouldn't be given 501(c)anything status.

501(c)4 is meant for organizations like the volunteer fire department, not for making soft money contributions to political campaigns tax deductible.

Yep.

Miller now says his term was up in June, so he was leaving anyhow.

Why 'fire' him when it was just a few "rogue" IRS agents? How about firing the agents and their managers?

Who thinks Obama may get impeached?

Two-thirds of the Senate? Not bloody likely. Besides, impeaching him makes him a victim and gives Biden sympathy. Better to show him for the corrupt empty suit he is and neuter him politically. He can bay at the moon until 2017.

Awesome. What do you expect they'll accomplish?

Undercutting the press's opinion of Obama. Some lies are just too big to ignore. If it hinders the implementation of ObamaCare by illustrating that the IRS is going to administer that program as well, I consider exposing corruption by the administration to be a plus.
