Woudln't surprise me if this dragging on by CLE is a way to bring IT's value down in FA next summer

Anything that is happening right now in these negotiations will be completely irrelevant by FA next summer.

Yeah that's like watching preseason tape on a team you're facing in the finals

I was meaning to post that a while ago but probably didn't, I don't think IT is going to receive a max offer next season at all. His max will be around $30M and there will only be a handful of teams who could pay him that sort of money next year, most of them will steer clear. I think, like George Hill this year, he will target a max but get closer to 2/3rds of it.

You posted it. A few people mentioned teams they think would. Like Denver, for instance. Though I don't know if they'll have the cap space.

My cholesterol levels might be through the roof again then. Hell, I only reduced it 55% last month.

The trade is complete. Cleveland will also receive a 2020 2nd rounder from Boston (via Miami).

Cleveland chiseled a 2nd rounder out of the celtics...damn ainge grow some balls

I don't think Miami's 2020 second rounder is really worth anything at this point. It's fine.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was going to say. The further out a draft pick is, the less valuable it is. And a second rounder doesn't start off with a lot of base value. Seems more like a gesture than anything substantial.
