So I think most of us have been pleasantly surprised by Crabbe this season. For reference, he's averaging 9/2/1 on 49/44/86 shooting splits which is insane. (TS is 59%). Per 36 that is 14/3/2 which is pretty much the same as Wesley Matthew's career PER36 numbers. Obviously he doesn't bring Matthew's defense or the same volume 3pt shooting to the table but he is solid most of the time. He's becoming more consistent as well. His shooting percentages would likely drop with increased usage but I think he's carved himself a good niche on this team. Most people might say they want to start Crabbe over CJ but I think I would try starting him for Aminu. Crabbe is a legit threat from 3.

Crabbe is only 23 and a RFA this offseason. With the emergence of the "3 & D" type players what kind of value does he have on the market? IF he keeps this up over the course of the season (and that's a big IF), I could see him getting something like a 4/40 deal, which is insane to even think about but really isn't that crazy when you consider the amount of money similar type players like Khris Middleton (4/70) and Iman Shumpert (4/44) got.

$10 million per year for Crabbe.....god damn that would be insane.

Obviously he doesn't bring Matthew's defense

I thought he was a good defender ?
Well he's one of my favourite players on the team right now, I definitely want to keep him.

Crabbe is definitely a keeper, unless we are forced to include him in a trade.

Thanks for posting the stats.

I'd like to see his stats for the last 10 games.

With the new salary cap, 10 million per year would be comparable to what we signed Matthews to away from Utah imo. And with the progression I've seen from crabbe, I think I'd probably match. I love what I've seen and I think he will get even better

Crabbe fouls a lot....and not the good kind. He likes to ride up behind shooters. Loses his man from time to time. Solid for sure though with potential to improve.

Well in the last 5 he's at 15/2/1 in 28 minutes on 55/53/86.

So....yeah. Obviously not sustainable though. Henderson is slowly being phased out of the rotation because of how well Crabbe is playing, and that's the way it should be. (Hendo didn't even play last night)

We need to trade Hendo and Kaman. I have to believe they could help some fringe playoff team that needs veterans, like Milwaukee or Sac.

Last year i preferred him over Batum, of course he is a long term piece.

The skeleton for the future (imo) is:
Dame
Crabbe
Davis
Plums
Aminu (?) [you got to have a good, tall wing defender].

I'd trade all the rest for a legit young all-star who plays on both ends if i could.

I love CJ and i will always hunt down his game videos on Youtube, but he and and Lillard can't work on defense.

I keep looking at rosters and barring any season ending injuries, I don't see any team that would need Kaman OR Hendo.

Best I could do was:

Kaman to Detroit for filler (Jodie Meeks? Joel Anthony?) and a 2nd rounder.

Hendo to NYK for Derrick Williams/Vujacic/2nd.

No one really needs a black hole spot minutes center and a mid range gunning SG.

WOW thats crazy. I been noticing that for years as well. The guy hands down gets no love from refs since his rookie year. I think its because he plays for a small market and his name isnt as huge yet. But I guess his name is pretty big hes one of adidas biggest paid players. I really dont know what the hell it is..

Bruce Bowen.

Crab is much better offensively than Bowen. I dont see the comparison

A big no to Derrick Williams.....

I think Crabbe is similar to a Phoenix Suns era Grant Hill..smart, unselfish team player..can score but doesn't look to score often

Mentioned on our podcast that AC is similar to Kyle Korver in the sense that he's only there to shoot the basketball. He won't fill up a stat sheet or be used as a facilitator or defensive stopper. His one job out on the court is to get open and knock down shots.

That should be cjs role. Crabbe has the ability to do Much more than just knock down shots

I've never understood CJ starting at the 2 over Crabbe...this is the one thing that makes me think he's likely to be involved in a trade. I like Crabbe and I'd keep him.

Really? I think the reason CJ is cemented as a starter is so other teams see him as a viable starting PG. I really think we're showcasing him this year to try to get the best value we can in a trade for an upper echelon SF or PF.

Crabbe is a better more natural fit next to Damian. He's a poor man's Klay to run beside our poor man's Curry.

CJ is essentially Golden State's Monte Ellis without the seniority. Hopefully we can get at least as much as Golden State got (Andrew Bogut & Stephen Jackson).

Have a feeling this will happen. They just don't match our other players and direction we are headed.

Keep the Crbbe. Spend the cash.

Like what? He might be able to become a defensive stopper because of his good size but he's not a good ball handler or playmaker.
I think he has all the tools to be a great defender. Dude is incredibly smart. Always knows where to be on the court.

I also think as he gets more confident, you'll see him able to create his own shot more than we have seen.
