thorn, ratner, kiki, and brett yormark are going to be there speaking about the current and future state of the teams and taking questions from the fans

I have only one question. It can be asked to anyone and everyone: What the fuck, ya'll?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (soul driver @ Feb 7 2008, 10:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>you gotta be a season ticket holder to go to that, right?</div>
yeah, or invited by a season ticket holder

Why should I continue to follow and root for this team when the front office has exhibited no competence whatsoever? For instance, do you even CONSULT with the coach before signing someone to see if there's even a CHANCE that he'll play? While all the attention has been on the ultimate fate of the "big three," they're not the biggest culprit for the team's failures: It is the supporting--or should I say the unsupporting--cast. Over the past few seasons, we've watched the Nets fill out their roster with middling veterans such as Eddie House, Cliff Robinson, Scott Padgett, Lamond Murray, Jeff McInnis, Travis Best, Rodney Buford, Ron Mercer, and Jacque Vaughn: A veritable revolving door of ineptitude that has now opened to the likes of Jamaal Magloire and Malik Allen. At the same time, we've watched other teams sign young, undrafted free agents, and gradually develop them into productive players that can make a real contribution. Not only have the Nets never had such a player, they've shown no apparent interest in even trying to find and develop one. Why do you have a blind spot when it comes to these young, unheralded players? For instance, why not sign Bobby Jones, who is a cheaper version of Antoine Wright--and may even be a better shooter?

Finally, are you offering rebates for fans that shelled out $150 for League Pass to watch your "product?"

Definately agree. Seems like they are marketing so much on what we have until the juice is all out. We are one of the cheapest teams in the NBA. We look at players with dollar signs over there heads. Vince Carter brings fans and Magloire once was an All-Star. If that had panned out I'm sure we'd be seeing more of his face like we did with Mikki near the end.

I'm not saying we haven't dodged some bullets. SAR and Kenyon to name a few but then there is the Korvers, Blatches and others who would have been good pick-ups.

In a sense I'm glad I don't live near New Jersey because I only read what I want to read via internet rather than having it in my face all day. Nothing will improve when the people who sign these guys cannot communicate with the coaches benching them.

I can only hear their answers now.

"Well if there's any way we can improve our team, we certainly will take a look at it, if it's something we can do to improve our team, yes."

"Well, we're obviously disappointed in the way we have been playing lately, we just haven't been able to get anything going in terms of wins."

"Our staff here at Nets basketball is committed to maintaining and providing a quality, fan interactive experience for all our guests from the time they walk in, to the time they walk out. We are committed to making Nets basketball the most fan friendly organization in sports, and we have made great progress in those efforts.."

"I am excited to say that will be ready to move to Brooklyn in time for the 2010-2011 season."

Yup. Bullshit.

Haha, I'd love to see the look on their faces when you ask a question like that.

hm....I bought 9 tickets before the season started, but I think they look like the season ticket design. I'd really like to go to this thing. what proof do I bring to the front door?

well, I guess that means I can't go

maybe I can sneak in somehow! I'll buy cases of gatorade and say I'm a delievery man...that's it.

we gotta put some sense into these guys' minds!

im going to try and bring my camera in to tape some of it

You guys should just bring in a bunch of realgm approved trades and give them to Thorn.

10,000 points to anyone who reads off Dumpy's post at the top of their lungs. I'm absolutely serious. The only catch is that you have to have some form of proof. Getting someone near you to film it would be ideal.

I had a vision of those Coors light commercials where the fans ask the head coach of a football team some questions.

Hey, is someone going to read my question?

I've been thinking that if you include that bit about Bobby Jones in the end, Thornepedia will probably JUST respond by saying something like "We don't think Bobby Jones will help this club right now," instead of answering the thrust of the question . . . so that should probably come out . . .
