I have access to two tix at $175 each. If I decide to go, is there anyone in here who would be interested in going with me? My brother may come with me but he hasn't let me know yet and time is of the essence and I want to know what my options are.

God I wish I could go

I'll go. I haven't been to a game all year.

Sorry BBert. I wish I had heard from you earlier. I ended up just getting one ticket. Let's definitely do it sometime in the future.

Dang it that's what happens when I do my job instead of living on the board.

How the heck do you send a pm on this new board?

Hey BBert- I PMd you. You PM people by clicking on their game and then clicking on "Start a Comversation."

Kenny Smith thinks that Westbrook can get OKC to a 5th seed or maybe even a 4th seed.

They need to focus on holding onto 8th. If they had won tonight and beat us tomorrow, then the sky would be the limit but the loss to Phoenix kills them.

'Potentially'

It will be a great game tomorrow night and it will further show if Portland is on the right track. Id be honest, after the Memphis loss. I have began to wonder if they are good enough to get out of the first round.

Its hard to imagine them losing with Westbrook playing out of his mind and getting triple doubles left and right. He did do all that tonight and still lost, I personally dont see them getting passed 6th but if Durant comes back and Westbrook is still playing like this they could pull a streak of 20-2 at the end.

Playing like what? 12/38 shooting? Missing a wide open layup? That is the path to greatness? If Westbrook keeps playing like this, the Thunder may barely get 8th seed. Bledsoe (11/16 FGs and 13 assists) outclassed Westbrook tonight and it wasn't close.

39 points on 38 shots, not that great but he had 14 rebounds 11 assists and 3 steals, thats a still a hell of a statline but im not going to get into a Westbrook debate with you because its pointless, westbrook could score 100 points in 5 straight games while dishing out 15 assists and youd fine something to try and discredit it.

It was a horrible game by Westbrook. Started 0/8 and finished with a missed wide open layup. He purposely goes after triple doubles over the win. He never really got his teammates going despite the double figure assists. Bledsoe was the best player of the night. And that's the guy Westbrook was supposed to guard. Bledsoe had 29 points on 16 shots with 13 assists and 9 rebounds. And the win. Wayyyy more impressive.

As for Westbrook scoring 100, I'm sure he'd love to. He wants to make every game about him.

By the way, we are 2-0 vs OKC because of Westbrook. In game 1, Westbrook made the first half all about him and by the 4th quarter, he was tired and his teammates were cold having hardly touched the ball. In Game 2, Westbrook took bad shots down the stretch of the 4th quarter and then blew the game by picking up a technical in the final minutes. Then his man, Lillard, drills a 3 at the buzzer to force overtime and we go on to win. Westbrook has talent (undeniable) but he has low BBIQ, no composure down the stretch, and horrible basketball instincts, always making the wrong decisions.

There are, by the way, a few players in the NBA today who could score 100 in a game if they wanted to and Westbrook may be one of them but that's bad basketball.

There is no denying Westbrook's talent... He's played real well over the past 4 games.
My biggest issue is his shooting % and his assist to turnover rate. Yes he had 11 assist last night vs the Suns, but he also had 4 turnovers.
The game before he had 5 turnovers vs the Pacers with only 10 assists.
The game before he had 17 assist with only 2 turnovers. That's a great assist to turnover ratio, Nuggets or not.
The game before he had 6 turnovers and 10 assists vs the Hornets.

That's 3 out of 4 games with a terrible assist to turnover ratio... a Point guard.. Can't have that ratio.

If you remember the first game in Portland when Westbrook got 40... He had 3 straight turnovers in the 4th quarter while driving in that led to points for the Blazers.
A point guard can't do that. It's not acceptable... Yes they wouldn't have been in the game without Westbrook dropping 40... But he also ruined his team's chances of winning with his black hole type play.
The game vs OKC as Kingspeed stated... All Westbrook had to do is not reach vs Lillard... Yet he did and then he compounded it by getting a Tech...
Wasn't that also Westbrook's 6th foul? I don't remember, maybe he fouled out in OT.
Once again, the Thunder wouldn't have been there without him... But, he once again ruined his teams chances of winning by not making the correct basketball play.

Westbrook is a top 10 maybe even top 5 player in the NBA, but when the game is on the line.. vs a playoff team... He's shown he comes up small.
The Thunder need KD. Westbrook is a good 3 and 3/4ths quarter player. But when crunch time happens... He comes up small more often than not.

Yea because missing your best player is meaningless?

Pfft, when we get Freeland back and Afflalo comfortable we're top 3 the West.

.

You are correct. Without Aldridge, we aren't good enough to get out of the first round.

Up until the SA game, I have personally not liked the way they have looked on the court with or without LA.

Still have concerns.

Blazers have been lacking good ball movement. The SA game was better, but there were a few times I was yelling at the TV for them to stop dribbling around like a headless chicken and move the ball. Luckily, only a few. They need to get back to 'player movement - ball movement', and making the extra pass. It was those "extra" passes against SA that got them a lot of good looks.

This is some of my concerns and I don't like what they were exuding if you will.

Its not so much that Westbrook comes up small but he goes 1v5 a LOT. He doesn't trust his teammates to get a basket when the Thunder need a basket but even knowing he is 1v5 he is going to get a shot off and it'll look good. Yes he will miss easy open shots and layups but who doesn't. Westbrook is borderline unstoppable when he is on and he has the mindset of a chucker so he is going to be chucking whether they are going in or not and recently his % is not great at all. His turnovers come from the same thing, and westbrook has always been a turnover machine I don't see any of those changing but I don't necessarily thing its a detriment to his team because of what else he brings.

Sometimes it just about literally blows my mind think that Westbrook, Durant and Harden all played on the same team with the way they like to dominate the ball.
