I think it doesn't work because it stunts the growth of the people. The only time Communism works is if the people are afraid of their government and that obviously is bad.
 
The problem with communism is the same problem with capitalism.... corruption. You can't escape greed, and politicians in a communist government are no different than politicians in a capitalist government. They're greedy, they don't have any scruples, and they're willing to completely fuck over the populace to get ahead. The problem with America is that our government serves the corporations that own the politicians. Those corporations have zero loyalty to this country or the people in it. They would completely fuck over the US to make a buck. Until people wake up and realize that it's not Republican vs Democrat, and actually "average citizen vs corporate greed," we won't fix anything.
 
Socialism is a flexible theory that uses different methods to advocate for equality in different aspects of society.

Communism is an extreme branch of socialism that advocates for no personal ownership of anything at all. I think the problem you get here is that there is no incentive to excel or even go to work every day.

Bernie describes himself as a Democratic Socialist. Democratic socialist advocate for personal ownership of most aspects of society but focus on providing their citizens comprehensive social welfare services. This is done usually by pubic ownership or heavy regulation of certain key areas of society, like health care, transit, education, prisons, rehab, etc. The specifics come down to the individual.

So no, Bernie is not a commie.

Yao Ming is 7'6...raised communist..not really stunted by it. I think you've got it wrong..marxism only works when the people are the government, not when they fear it and it's never happened in history

Serious answer, he's not a communist and not really a socialist in the truest meaning of the word. His beliefs fall more inline with those of the socialistic democracies of Denmark, Finland, and The Netherlands.

But even saying that if you read what issues he's campaigning on none of them are socialism.
