Those are capitalist definitions. Communism is the belief: "There should not be rich people."

Socialism: "The management class shold be a meritocracy, paid not much more (maybe 20%) than the working class."

Working class: "those who sweat, are out of breath much of the day, and push their bodies to the limit, for a living, dying younger"

Capitalism is the belief: "Most leaders should be born into the management class, else laziness will dominate. A pure meritocracy is not sustainable without a special class to crack the whip."

Go capitalism!

I knew he was a socialist, which is very close to communism, but I never expected he would gain so much support from the communist party. Do they believe he is a communist? What do you guys think?

You couldn't define communism without having to look it up on Wikipedia. Look up democratic socialist. Think about the country of Switzerland is run and then you might have an idea. As for now you're completely clueless on the subject...

Unfettered capitalism is what we have in this country. That's fascism. Fascism is rising in America.

I don't see any similarities with capitalism and facism at all. I do see similarities in socialism and communism though.

Do some more research. Fascism was defined by its creator Benito Mussolini. It's when corporations take over your country. That's what we have now bro... Unfettered capitalism is fascism.

The problem with communism is the same problem with capitalism.... corruption. You can't escape greed, and politicians in a communist government are no different than politicians in a capitalist government. They're greedy, they don't have any scruples, and they're willing to completely fuck over the populace to get ahead. The problem with America is that our government serves the corporations that own the politicians. Those corporations have zero loyalty to this country or the people in it. They would completely fuck over the US to make a buck. Until people wake up and realize that it's not Republican vs Democrat, and actually "average citizen vs corporate greed," we won't fix anything.

One of your better posts Nate.

Unfettered capitalism. Hahahahaha.

What we have is social democracy.

If you don't like it, then you shouldn't vote for a guy who wants to give us more of it.

The fact that you can find facism and capitalism similar is all I need to hear. Socialism is used in communism and that's a fact.

Btw... So you feel that someone that goes to school for 10 more years, gets a doctorate and operates on you should be paid no more than 20% over the man without education and picks up trash on the street?

We have a bastard version of social democracy. Hillary is the establishment status quo candidate, Bernie has some radical ideas for institutional change.

Fascism is like the anti socialism, capitalism is also the anti socialism. While the republican version of capitalism feels like fascism, they are as similar as socialism and communism..... in the same sphere of ideology.

Putin has radical ideas for institutional change, too.

Wait, so we want to develop the economic model of Switzerland? I mean this is what we are going after?

http://nomadcapitalist.com/2014/05/20/minimum-wage-switzerland-around-world/

Not bad! Maybe we should because they haven't raised minimum wage for over 20 years and it actually dropped since the last decade. They tried voting to increase min wage and it was voted down 78/22. It is currently €7.40, which is roughly $11 per hour

so did Stalin, Gandhi, FDR and Hitler. The devil is in the details.

Or...

Even with the best of intentions, socialism is a miserable failure when the rubber meets the road.

Capitalism may be evil, but everything else is worse. So far.

I'd rather let someone else pioneer some radical societal changes and see it work to our satisfaction.

I'm not anti-communist, FWIW. I've always felt that it may be quite appropriate for many 3rd world nations. Just that when put into practice for large industrialized nations, it's awful.

Bernie Sanders has jumped out to a nine-point lead over front-runner Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, and he's gained ground on her among Iowa voters in the Democratic presidential race, according to a pair of brand-new NBC News/Marist polls.

In New Hampshire, the Vermont senator gets the support of 41 percent of Democratic voters, Clinton gets 32 percent and Vice President Joe Biden gets 16 percent. No other Democratic candidate receives more than 1 percent.

Back in July's NBC/Marist poll, Clinton was ahead of Sanders in the Granite State by 10 points, 42 percent to 32 percent, with Biden at 12 percent.

Without Biden in the race, Sanders' lead over Clinton in the current survey increases to 11 points, 49 percent to 38 percent.

In Iowa, Clinton maintains her previous advantage over Sanders — but her lead has declined from 24 points in July (49 percent to 25 percent) to 11 points (38 percent to 27 percent); Biden sits at 20 percent.

I don't know wtf you're talking about. Doctors make a lot of money in Norway. Again Benito Mussolini is the creator of fascism. Look it up. It is when your country is controlled by corporations. What's happening in this country right now? Do your research... You obviously don't know...

And what's our minimum wage here? Minimum wage should keep up with inflation. If it did we be at over $21 an hour and now. In Australia minimum wage is 16 +

Going to school for 10 years could mean you graduated high school at 28 or could mean you only made it to the 8th grade

In your opinion which of his ideas are radical?

https://berniesanders.com/issues/

Depends on your perspective, but he is the only candidate talking about money in politics and reforming wall street. Also his plan for free education and single payer health care system, along with various other community health and outreach programs are a little "radical". His take on living wages and income inequality can be considered radical also..... or they could all be considered moderate and sensible.... perspective.

I think we'll see a Sanders vs Carson finals in the election
