That's a shit ton of conjecture based on zero evidence. Here's the problem..... it feels more and more like Dame is running this team.
CJ is here because he's friends with Dame.
Stotts is here because Dame went to bat for him.
How much you want to bet that Melo is back because Dame wanted him back?
It feels like we bash on Neil but honestly, I think Dame went behind his back to keep Stotts and I don't think Neil is going to make any significant changes without Dame signing off. I think he made his bed and now we're all lying in it.
In 20+ years as a fan I’ve never, ever wanted them to lose.
But I’m now wondering if it’s the only way to a better future.
Two doors to go down:
1. Get somewhat back on track, maintain a decent record, earn a 5-8th seed, lose in the first round or, if we match up well with the opponent and dame goes supernova, win a round and lose in the second round.
2. Continue to disappoint. Lose to bad teams. Force Olsheys hand to fire stotts, trade cj, or all of the above.
Is it bad that for the first time ever I want to see number 2 happen?

Nas needs a new nickname..Chicken Little might not work though..and losing 20lbs from covid is terrifying change unless you're jiggling when you two stepwhich has Chicken Little fans terrified of change.
Maybe we should've stopped shooting 3s when we were cold and maybe we could've ran some plays to get something other than a 3. But we didn't.In my opinion tanking for any reason is an insult to the fanbase so yeah...it's bad to want them to lose as a fan. If Stotts doesn't have a winning record by midseason he may get fired but he's not making us miss shots for 7 minutes at a time....our shooters slumped badly last night...Dame has not been shooting very well in losses at all.....do you think trading Dame is the answer? I don't...I think reps is the answer for this roster and 7 games in....we're not close yet...I'd say most fans here don't like Stotts so you'll get alot of support here at S2 for firing the coach...just not from me...
Are you sure he hasn't lost this team? I mean, what would you define that as?very well said....I also will add that Terry Stotts will never lose his teams or make a volatile environment for franchise....there's more value in that than some will credit him for..it's why he and Dame are so close as coach and captain...they share trust
Yeah...having the support of the entire roster and front office is what I define as not losing a team...I think Stotts is well thought of by all his current players and former players....just saw a Dorrell Wright interview with Dame and they talked about it....Stotts is a guy that isn't volatile or tantrum throwing at all...even keeled. Like Carlisle or Spoelstra...they can handle the ups and downs..the only player I ever heard criticize him was Evan Turner..I"m big on loyalty and character. I think Terry is too. I haven't given up on this team or season yet...I think we'll be damned good as constructed in a few more weeks and shots will fall againAre you sure he hasn't lost this team? carlisle..... won a championship.
Spoelstra...... won multiple championships.
Stotts....... hasn’t won anything.
Stotts........ has won Dame's trust.

True. It's also true that expecting Stotts to be fired while he has Dame's support is delusional.Of course Dame and CJ love him. He lets them do whatever the hell they want. Melo is in that category now too. He never holds them accountable for when they take horrible shots or don't pass the ball (or don't play defense.)
Is it bad that I want them to keep losing to force change?
Yes it is.

I think this team has problems that go deeper than Terry Stotts.
I do think, if we're being completely honest, we have to start looking at Dame's role in this along with Olshey, Stotts, CJ, Nurk, etc.
As great a talent as he is, it's becoming apparent to me that building a contending team around a player like him might not be as easy as we think it should be.
No other small market teams have done it... It's not easy. At all.I think this team has problems that go deeper than Terry Stotts.

Pretty sure that's fake.Dame has a “wondering eye” for Miami
This ultimately is on Olshey. He simply did not do enough.
so did tim frazier.Stotts........ has won Dame's trust.
