I'm not meaning to include everybody, but I don't want to name names either because that doesn't really elicit positive responses.

Evidently the underage, clueless self-important "moderators" who are deliberately trolling and baiting posters in this forum have no clue at all that this was the EXACT kind of behavior that lead most of the members posting here to flee BBF and set up camp at SportsTwo. Deju Vu is right. I mean it's incredible that juvenile Laker "moderators" are once again deliberately trolling and baiting posters in the Blazer forum. One of them was even dumb enough to admit he was doing it on purpose, enjoyed it and planned to do it more often.
Well, as they say, those too stupid to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. They may think it's funny, but you certainly have to question both their intelligence and their motivation.
This forum is by FAR the only NBA team forum on SportsTwo that's worth a shit. All the other ones are irrelevant As I type this, there are 56 people viewing the Blazers forum. All 29 other NBA team forums on SportsTwo currently have a grand total of 10 combined viewers. That's right, the Blazers forum here is over 5 times more popular than all other team forums combined. So, is their motivation simple petty jealously that this forum is wildly popular while their own team's forum is a virtual ghost town? Or, are they actually dumb enough to think if they manage to destroy this forum they somehow "win"?
The site owners here are pretty laid back, but I have to wonder how they would feel if some of their moderators managed to destroy the one NBA team forum here that generates vastly more page views, and therefore, vastly more ad revenue, than all the other NBA team forums combined. Did they not learn anything from what happened at BBF? Did they really spend all the time, energy and money to set up this site and get it running, only to have a couple idiots they appointed as moderators chase away the members of the only NBA team forum here that's generating any revenue for them? If so, I have one thing to say: "The business model is broken".

I'm gonna have to jump in here.
Why are you guys so protective of 'your forum'? Its not yours, its the site's. And from personal experience, its like you guys take offense to every non-Blazer fan coming here and daring to have an opinion that isn't pro-Blazers on that particular matter, no matter how valid or well thought out it may be. What is the point of just gossiping to each other all day about how good Jerryd Bayless is, instead of engaging in actual debates with fans of other teams?
Just sayin'.

Anyone notice how MIXUM hasn't been heard from lately?
War, good God, what is it good for.
*tries to count how many times he has come in here with perfectly valid but not necessarily pro-blazer opinions, and been chased out by the troll-hounds*

More generally, it's very hard to sort out effects on this forum. It's hard to disentangle "forum xenophobia" from the number of people who come here with chips on their shoulders, already annoyed about how Blazers fans discuss more than just the Blazers here, don't go elsewhere on the forum or "are treated differently" due to size.
are you saying we are fat?
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! It might hear you -- I think it's in the walls.
Well all the other forums would be better if everyone explored other forums, making threads in them rather than having tons of OT threads. Like I understand having your Blazer lounge with regular life OT stuff, but there's threads about Odom being suspended & Kidd only having 1 assist in the 1st half of a game in the Blazer forum. There's a reason everyone is @ the Blazer forum, it's because there's no one else posting @ other places. You can't attract people to join a forum if there's only activity in a few forums. You only gain more people if the whole site is going full throttle. Not all fans are complete douchebags like some guys that have come in here.
I'd say the forum belongs to us as members- the location may change, but the same core of posters forms the blazer board community. I'm just happy to be a minor member!
Well just look at all the wonderful reasons I've been given to explore other forums. Besides, I want to chat with Blazer fans. We have a wide enough community here that there's plenty of discussion without things getting boring. You're also under the impression that I give a fuck about the website as a whole. I don't. This Blazer community is the only reason I'm here, S2, while nice, offers nothing a million other websites can't offer.J_Ray said:There's a reason everyone is @ the Blazer forum, it's because there's no one else posting @ other places. I got that it was a joke, but it's a touchy area, and there's definitely an element of tribalism involved. I still think that it's disrespectful for you to exercise mod powers when we have plenty of good, community selected moderators already. For what it's worth, this is a PUBLIC FORUM. Anyone can post anywhere. I wasn't necessarily trying to make a point with that post, more of a joke if anything (ya know, hence the smiley afterwards).
Again, I don't give a fuck about the other forums here, I want to talk with Blazer fans. The only time I ever venture is to laugh (while lurking) at another team's forum in crisis mode. Any Blazer fans out of line in another team's forums should be dealt with by that forum's moderators. And I'm not going to disagree that some of the immaturity was totally uncalled for, but so was your guys' fans coming in to the Laker forum and gloating about your win the other night.
But hey, double standards are cool I guess.
Precisely why I don't go to other teams' forums....I would tend to disagree with the latter part of your post here pal. I don't recall the last time I was treated "well" in this forum. Anytime I come in here to voice my opinion, someone is attacking me. Whether it be KingSpeed or someone else, I'm getting attacked almost always.
I mean seriously, does no one realize that neither side will budge on this Ariza/Rudy thing? Its going to go on forever. You guys are going to shit chickens and say that the Lakers are classless thugs and Ariza deserves to be hit by a bus, then the Laker fans are going to shit chickens and point out evidence that Ariza didn't intend to injure, and then you will shit chickens again, and so on... what does anyone expect to gain out of this bullshit?
