Isn't there a way to link the main board on the top here? I think that would help out...

truth be told, i don't watch anything other than blazers basketball.....just no time really.

haha well I am a *coughcoughYankeesFanCoughcough* but I'm not one of those bandwagon ones who joined on in the championship years in the late 90's. I grew up and Don MAttingly was my favorite player for some reason as a kid, and the Yanks sucked at that time.. so I at least take pride in not being a bandwagon fan.. back on the Giants.. I am so glad Randy Johnson signed with you guys.. even if the only reason is because I laugh everytime I see the MLB2k9 commercial and Randy tells Linceicum (sp?) that his Computer model guy "should put a towel on" not sure why but I laugh every time.. kinda like the VOTE ME commercial

that commercial makes me laugh. Lincecum really does not have the look of the most dominant starter in baseball, at all.

My dad is a Yankees fan too.

On a side note, I've been lucky that I have actually seen to of the greatest players in UDub's history (Roy and Lincecum) live back when they were in college.

Other forums are virtual wastelands b/c everything is being posted in one forum. If things were posted in the right forums, other people could go to other forums rather than just here. Also it's not trolling going to other forums, it's only trolling if you talk shit for no good reason. It's just ignorant to go on with this argument about going to other forums, because not all of you see that this is a sports site, not a Blazer site. There are always communities within sites, but the site is only great when all the communities come together to become one big forum.

There are great opinions in every team forum and I enjoy talking to the old Raptors/Nets/etc. fans that we have. I think people should try to branch out a bit, you don't have to be a fan of another team to do that.

Well, the site rules here are relatively new so I can understand their confusion. They were under the interpretation that what they were doing was perfectly normal.

The rules were written up for a poster in the past from another forum, because it became too amorphous what an offense around here was. I see various Blazer mods cite the rules around here but they forget past huge controversies and were not around for them.

This isn't BBF or whatever, the rules are quite slack. In fact I think the Blazer forum is the most strict to be honest.
of course, when someone tells others to read the rules because what he is doing isn't against them, i would assume that at the very least he would have read the rules himself and had some understanding of what they meant. that clearly was not the case here.

I think it is beneficial to visit the other team forums because it is good to observe a different perspective or forum that isn't subjective. You'll learn intricacies of other teams and understand the current game better, imo.

That may be true - if when I go there I'm not the only one viewing the forum and there haven't been any new posts in over 12 hours. Hard to learn much when the place you visit seems abandoned.

It's funny, I never visit the Blazers forum on BBF anymore - because it's a ghost town. But, when I want news on another team, I head straight for BBF - because ALL the other team forums on S2 are ghost towns.

So? That's quite clearly not one of my goals, and I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Also, I hate you BNM. Not only do you distract me with the word "boob," you have a habit of writing what I'm thinking, just far more eloquently than me.

Re: About my thread Lakers being Suspended

I'm just wondering, how come your "research" only extends to the last 4 years? could it be because if you go further back, there's nothing, and since you wanna "conclude" a type of behaviour, you figured limiting it to 4 years makes it look more incriminating?
I don't see any other clubs doing this. Do you really want to go to visiting team arenas when your Lakers are labled this and then suddenly your in a fight with some local fans and your kid gets pushed?
Aren't you concerned a little about your teams behavior on the court?

If win-win means attracting the sort of people in the highly "visible" justin.tv chats, can we go with the lose-lose instead?

High visibility does not have to mean bad things. Justin.tv is a wasteland of idiots in the heat of the moment who have no moderation what-so-ever and are in an immediate conversation setting. I imagine some of them would be more engaging and productive in a message board setting.

And if not you could put the bad ones on ignore and engage with the good ones.

Very true. Some of my most interesting discussions at OLive were back and forth with Nets fans about possible trade ideas involving Vince Carter and Devin Harris. It was fascinating how fans of other teams value your players/their players vs how you do.

So forgive me if I'm nothing but a locust, but I don't see why I should care about sportstwo.com

lol you should care maybe because you post here @ S2:dunno:

Who knows, maybe you all will be the exception to the rule. Should we all start over? Despite all my arguments, I don't have anything against Laker fans or otherwise posting here in theory, I just don't really think it works.

Woah...don't associate me with the Laker fans, I'm of much higher class than them....Utah>Portland>LA

I don't give a fuck if you're a Laker fan or not, but you've just said that your presence in this forum is rarely an enjoyable experience, a feeling which, on my part, is most certainly mutual. Obviously you have the right to be here, I've never said otherwise. But why, if you don't enjoy it? Why come here and post about how you don't like it?

Why do I come here? I dunno, because I love to talk sports? Because a good debate is always fun? Because, despite the crap experience sometimes, there's still some good members in here to debate with? Or, better yet, simply because I can.

And why post that it's not a good experience a majority of the time? To make you guys realize that you can be jerks to outsiders maybe? That's probably why.

And your initial post of questioning why I'm here certainly made it sound like you wanted no part of my being here.

And I'm glad that you hate me being here, because I've done soooo much to wrong you. So sue me if voicing my honest and non-biased opinion pisses you off because it differs from yours

My Lakers aren't labeled shit. All I see some is someone who clearly doesn't understand the term "sample-size".

Now, answer my question. Why does your "research" only extends to 4 years ago? why not 5, or 6, or 10?

Exactly.. and I have some really good conversations on Lakersground of all places.. its funny because some of them try and treat me like crap because I am a Blazer fan.. then 50% of the forum backs me and goes after their own. People just have to realize to not be an ass and dont look at things as "your team rules all and if we dont go 82-0 its the ref's fault because there is no way our team can lose fairly." (I know you arent like that cloudy dont worry lol)

The layout around here lately is very nice, however that wasn't always like that and posters left because they were unhappy. Luckily that has changed and we are hoping to improve that.

Team forums are stagnant but there is enough new material to read about when you take all those small team forums into account. The New posts page usually returns a decent amount of material.

Also the general off-topic section here is funny and relevant to any fan I think.

it takes on rotten apple to destroy a whole batch....

alright, the justin.tv comment was harsh, but while there are some positives to higher visibility, there's also some drawbacks, enough so that I don't see how going out of my way to promote S2 would be to my advantage.

Perhaps he posts about how he doesn't like it so we can all take a moment to examine ourselves in our best objective attempt and realize that we don't have to be jerks automatically to other teams fans under assumptions that they're here only to hate on the Blazers. I don't think any of us would like that assumption placed on us if we were trying to visit another team's board in a respectful manner only to be met with a lot of subtle FUCK YOU YOU STUPID HOMERS.

You see any Blazers, Jazz, Nuggets, Clippers, Warriors, Suns, T-Wolves doing flagrant on the last 4 years on your team? I think not.
Do I have to post again what Kobe and Odom have done in the past 4 years? Lets see Odom is "again" suspended 1 game for leaving the bench vs Portland. You have to prove to me that the Blazers have left the bench or have drawn flagrant 2 fouls in the past 4, 5, 6 years on your team.
Why should I go past 4 years? This isn't necessary good for the Laker organization for having this many problems in the last few years? I am not hating the Lakers but seriously this doesn't seem to look right in the public eye and the rest of the league.

Because 80% of those participating in this site are fans of that one team.

Again why exactly do you think it's my duty (or the duty of any Blazers fan) to generate traffic in the other forums? I honestly don't care if there is ANY traffic in the other forums. And, if S2 dies because of it, I don't care.

The majority of the posters in the Blazers forum have migrated en mass from other sites on multiple occasions. If S2 isn't viable in the long run due to the lack if interest in the other team forums, we'll just move again. There is really nothing special about this particular site. It's just our latest home. The forum software is pretty much the same everywhere. What makes THIS forum special is the posters. Wherever they go, I go with them.

Well s2 seems to be one of the nicest on the internet and eventually you will run out of competent places to go to.

Why aren't you answering my question?:tsktsk:

Let me try again: Why does your "research" only extend to 4 years ago? why not 5, 6, or 10?

cool, me too.
Or, better yet, simply because I can.
You can do a lot of things, doesn't mean you should...
And why post that it's not a good experience a majority of the time? To make you guys realize that you can be jerks to outsiders maybe? That's probably why.
And that's why there are problems. You want to "make us realize something" instead of just offering up your point of view. Your goal isn't to debate the merits of the Kidd/Harris trade, it's to prove someone else wrong. Can you imagine why people would find that dickish and respond angrily?
And your initial post of questioning why I'm here certainly made it sound like you wanted no part of my being here.
I'm still pissed off about that first thread, sorry. Those are the only posts of yours that I remember, and I don't remember exactly which user posted what, so I'm probably mixing you up with someone else. My sincere apologies. So, maybe you and I should start over. Welcome to the Blazers forum?
And I'm glad that you hate me being here, because I've done soooo much to wrong you. So sue me if voicing my honest and non-biased opinion pisses you off because it differs from yours
That's just not at all representative of what's been posted in here tonight. As I said above, I'm probably lumping you in with the others, so sorry, but my impression has been that people are here to troll.

lol you should care maybe because you post here @ S2:dunno:
I post here in this Blazer community, which just happens to be, for the moment, at S2.

well the past 4 years is more relevant to the current lakers team than 5 or 6 or 10 or more. i'd assume that would have to be one reason. also, if you went back to include 2004, the pacers would "win" with all the suspensions from the brawl.

There wasn't anyone coming here respectfully, at least not tonight.

Probably Googled: Flagrant fouls ejection NBA.

and those were the first 4 results to show up lol

that's not true. there were only a few people who didn't come here respectfully(i only saw mamba and lost one but there could have been more). but what did moo2k4 do tonight that was disrespectful in any way?

Keep preaching your greatness

Well every merger or exodus is somewhat risky, hopefully they can all just stay here permanently. Like the Blazers or not I'd feel bad about such a large amount of posters leaving.

lol you should care maybe because you post here @ S2:dunno:

For now. I have no vested interest in S2. If it goes under tomorrow, I'll just follow the Blazers crowd to the next site. No biggie.

BTW, my original post in this thread was warning that if you continue to let you're fellow mods act like dicks you risk driving away the one and only NBA team forum whose fanbase generates significant traffic on S2. So, again shouldn't you be talking to them about their destructive behavior rather than wasting your time trying to convince me to post in a bunch of dead forums that don't interest me in any way? Seems like it would be a better use of your time.

Maybe that's why Nate Dogg's "research" only starts from 2005?:biglaugh:

Or probably because if he took it 1 year back then it would be the pacers with the most ejections(credit to racketeer). Kinda makes his point about the lakers being the most ejection-prone team moot, no?
