Is it happening again?

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

that's not true. there were only a few people who didn't come here respectfully(i only saw mamba and lost one but there could have been more). but what did moo2k4 do tonight that was disrespectful in any way?
There were a lot more than just two, though I'm not sure if moo was among them. Sorry for generalizing all the "visitors." Again, I wish the initial thread was brought back to life, locked, just to show why I'd be pissed off about it.

cool, me too.

Awesome, glad to know we agree.

You can do a lot of things, doesn't mean you should...

Very true, but where's the fun in NOT doing things?

And that's why there are problems. You want to "make us realize something" instead of just offering up your point of view. Your goal isn't to debate the merits of the Kidd/Harris trade, it's to prove someone else wrong. Can you imagine why people would find that dickish and respond angrily?

I wasn't trying to make you realize something until this thread. And call me crazy, but isn't part of debating trying debunk the other person's thoughts and prove them wrong?

I guess I could see how some might react angrily, but I figured since I'm debating with mostly adults, it'd be ok. I guess I was wrong.

I'm still pissed off about that first thread, sorry. Those are the only posts of yours that I remember, and I don't remember exactly which user posted what, so I'm probably mixing you up with someone else. My sincere apologies. So, maybe you and I should start over. Welcome to the Blazers forum?

Starting over sounds good to me, and apologies accepted. I just hope next time I come in here I don't get reamed for offering up a different opinion now.

That's just not at all representative of what's been posted in here tonight. As I said above, I'm probably lumping you in with the others, so sorry, but my impression has been that people are here to troll.

A lot of people do come around to troll. I'm not one of those people, and I apologize that some of my fellow Laker fans came in here and acted immature.

I post here in this Blazer community, which just happens to be, for the moment, at S2.

And as a member of the staff, I'd prefer you guys stick around @ S2. And while you're at it, feel free to visit other forums. I swear Laker fans don't bite as long as you don't piss them off by doing what some of your fellow Blazer fans did the other night after the Blazers dick-stomped us.

Re: About my thread Lakers being Suspended

Why aren't you answering my question?:tsktsk:

Let me try again: Why does your "research" only extend to 4 years ago? why not 5, 6, or 10?
Well, its not until lately that the Laker behavior is doing this and your team is being suspended by the league. Why doesn't your team clean up its act? How is 4 years ago til now unjust?

So, where to next?

Maybe you are just joking, but it doesn't seem that the situation has reached a point where we would need to think about that. It appears that we were temporarily invaded, but the threads have been deleted and as long as it doesn't happen again, not a big deal. I would like to think that the administrators will have enough sense to see to that.

I was not one of those overzealous visitors you speak of

And FWIW, it's probably best that that thread be kept deleted.

But why is "lately" only 4 years? why not go back 5, and then you have the pacers as "prone to be suspended"?

But then you won't be able to talk shit about the lakers, right?:tsktsk:

Btw, would you be kind enough to tell me where you got your data from?

Re: About my thread Lakers being Suspended

Or probably because if he took it 1 year back then it would be the pacers with the most ejections(credit to racketeer). Kinda makes his point about the lakers being the most ejection-prone team moot, no?

Not at all. How many of those ejected/suspended players still play for the Pacers? Last I checked the ejected/suspended players he mentioned, Kobe and Odom, still play for the Lakers. When was the last time Artest or Jackson wore a Pacers jersey? What happened five years ago, involving players long ago traded isn't really relevant when talking about which team is currently the most ejection/suspension prone.

For now. I have no vested interest in S2. If it goes under tomorrow, I'll just follow the Blazers crowd to the next site. No biggie.

BTW, my original post in this thread was warning that if you continue to let you're fellow mods act like dicks you risk driving away the one and only NBA team forum whose fanbase generates significant traffic on S2. So, again shouldn't you be talking to them about their destructive behavior rather than wasting your time trying to convince me to post in a bunch of dead forums that don't interest me in any way? Seems like it would be a better use of your time.

I think you didn't get my message though. The rest of the site uses the new posts page and scatters their attention everywhere. It's not about some arbitrary forum but all the other threads you do not visit because you just stay here. It gets quite active actually taking that into account.

That's funny, I could swear teams consisted of more than 2 people. So unless Odom and Kobe are the Lakers team, how is the statement "The lakers are prone to be suspended" correct in any way?

If they do, great. No reason to leave - and that was my original point. Continue to allow your moderators to bait, troll and act like dicks and don't be surprised when the majority people in the most active forum (by far) leave.

BTW, I would have also thought the admins at BBF would have had enough sense to intervene and clean things up before letting it escalate the way it did. But, they didn't - or we wouldn't be here right now.

you're fighting a losing battle there. the majority of the blazers posters have no interest in posting anywhere but the blazers site and a lot have little interest in other teams in general unless the blazers are playing them or if the results of their game effects the blazers in some way.

Stop trolling guy, you give Laker fans a bad name

Indeed but I just wanted to clarify how the rest of the site functions, no one really goes to any specific forum so the fact that there are many dead ones doesn't matter to them.

You're beating a dead horse bro, no use.

And I apologize if anyone here really like horses...I just felt like using the phrase, lol.

:deadhorse:

"But he was so beautiful"

LMAO! OMG, I wish I'd have known about that smiley for my post! That's gotta be one of the, if not the best smiley I've ever seen, hahahahahahahahahaha.

Repped for the awesome smiley.

Again, I guess my problem isn't with you in particular. To me it usually seems like people just "want to make us take off the homer glasses." That's not a debate, it's saying "I'm right, you're wrong and your judgment is clouded." It's an attack on a poster's ability to form an objective opinion, and predictably, it doesn't do anyone any good.
And call me crazy, but isn't part of debating trying debunk the other person's thoughts and prove them wrong?
And that works well on the internet....
Wrong-on-Internet.jpg

IMO, people in general don't change their opinion, especially because of a heated debate, and especially on a forum whose subject attracts competitive people. Even if someone might eventually change their position, that change is an internal realization that comes well after the fact. So it essentially comes down to agreeing to disagree, something we should all probably do more of.

I could careless if the the Blazer community got up and left, the rest of the site is the same w/ or w/o them as it is right now.

Are you sure about that? Aren't you the same guy that was just trying to drum up traffic in the other team forums for the "good of the site"? And now you expect me to believe you don't care if the community that generates 80% of the traffic in all NBA forums combined just up and left? I find that hard to believe.

This isn't even the main site I post at anyways, so I'm not going to beg for forgiveness for something I had no part of or want to be affiliated with.

Where, oh where did I, or anyone else ask you to beg for forgiveness? I didn't. I never even mentioned anything about forgiveness. Do you feel you need to be forgiven? If not, why bring it up?

If you want to leave go ahead, just don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Nice attitude. Still, if I leave it won't be because of you. It will be because the rest of the Blazers regulars have left and gone elsewhere - for whatever reason.

I love horses. Pistols (well, swords) at dawn, good sir.

I just had bacon and eggs...It was much more enjoyable than this thread :drumroll:

I actually always come in to any forum with good intentions. I'm never a dick and I always voice my honest opinion. If it's a pro-Laker one, I voice it, if it's a pro-whoever the fuck else, I post it. Just because I'm a Laker fan doesn't make me biased. I may be a fan of the team but I'm a fan of the NBA first and foremost and I hardly ever let my fandom effect my opinion. If I say something, I believe it because that's what I believe, not because of who I root for.

Despite this, I still have been treated like shit on numerous occasions here.

do you seriously think you come in here with no bias? you show up with a big sig of bynum and the same in your avitar and some people in here immediatly think troll because of some of the other laker mods. and i'm sorry but you take your bias where ever you go. if i go to the laker forum, even if i'm trying to be on my best behavior, i'm still going into with a blazer fan's slant. no way around that. what you are saying is like listening to a news channel telling you they are giving you the news with no bias, impossible.

I don't follow your "logic". The Lakers are more prone to be ejected/suspended because they've had more ejections/suspensions than any other team recently. What part of that do you fail to comprehend?

BNM

and i have to agree with others on here about going to other teams forums. it seems like a chicken vs egg type of situation. i could go post that Kidd seems to be well past his prime in the dallas forum, but it wouldn't elict 1/2 the respones i could get here in the OT forum, in half the time. why go post somewhere where there is no one posting?

I never said I wanted to "drum up traffic", I'm the guy that wants the site to have more activity all around rather than have people just stay in their forums making tons of OT threads. But obviously some people don't understand the point of a sports forum if you are just going to use it as a Blazer forum. W/e I'm done trying to get a point through if people don't want to listen.

people are listening, they just disagree with you. Your welcome to your own opinion about how a sports forum should work, now try accepting our own. This is a difference in opinion, not a failure to "understand the point."

The Lakers aren't "prone" to shit. There's only 2 players on the Lakers that have been suspended in the last 4 years, and only twice each. That's not a pattern of behavior.

Again, tell me why "recently" is defined as 4 years ago? why not take it 5? could it be because then the Lakers aren't the ones with the most suspended players "recently"?

I think you're not giving the others here credit though. If you make a thread about Kidd at least the other non-Blazer fans will take a look at it and surely add their input.

See, you're judging the guy before you even read his posts. How is this fair if you judge someone's view as bad b4 you even read what it's about?
