Is it possible a trade has already been agreed to?

Sure, as to the deal being agreed to. It would be incredibly inept for the players to have been informed this far out from that date though.

I'd think anything floated by their agent would be known pretty quickly...sometimes it's the player trying to get traded as well..as in Rudy Gay

It's possible that a trade has been agreed to, but Olshey doesn't let stuff leak and if the players new about it it would leak to the media.

I'm guessing it's Crabbe for Noel because I can't think of any other reason why the Sixers haven't traded Noel.

I could see GM's agreeing and keeping their mouth shut until deadlines passed, but not player or player agents.

We are the "just better than lottery" team we were supposed to be last year. Neal O will trade our assets to get someone he wants (Noel or Vucevic IMO). Good thing we have assets. If we'd have attracted Whiteside, we would not have retained MyLe IMO.

I really like Lillard and CJ as a guard duo. They work well together. Both really skilled and good scorers.
I also love the improvement from Harkless and Vonleh. I wouldn't mind seeing a Lillard-McCollum-Harkless-Vonleh-Noel lineup someday.

There's definitely worse positions to be in. We're young, have assets, and already have two star level players that are yet to hit their prime.

Here's my theory: Portland and Philadelphia have already agreed to a trade involving Allen Crabbe and a Future 1st going to the 76ers and Nerlens Noel going back to the Blazers.

It makes no sense to bench Noel and likely lower his trade value if they're trying to shop him to other teams.

However, they stated that they've benched him for the indefinite future.

Benching him is probably a precaution to protect his already fragile body form getting hurt before they can trade him to Portland on January 15th. So that's my theory. Portland and Philadelphia have agreed to trade Crabbe for Noel, but are waiting until Crabbe is actually tradeable.

During the Dallas game, did anyone notice NO head to the locker room withthe team? I dont know if he always does that, but it was the first time Id witnessed it. I kinda had a feeling that he went in there and dropped a huge bomb. Might not be naming names yet, but told them things will be changing. I think that actually excited Dame internally and he started taking the 3rd quarter over, but him knowing he will get more help might be plausible.

Doubt it. Thats the kind of thing I'd expect to be brought up at practice, not in the middle of a game.

Dame is probably pumped about being traded to the Lakers.

I agree with this. I've said the longer Noel stays a sixer, the more sure I am there's already something agreed to. As for leaks, we know what a tight ship Olshey runs. I guess it could leak from Phillys side but if they wanted Crabbe they'd be best served to keep a lid on it as well.

It might also just be as simple and informal as colangelo telling Olshey he likes Crabbe wink wink and Olshey telling him "ok I'll keep that in mind." I doubt there will be many trades before January anyway so it's not like either side is missing out on something else. You could make an argument that Philadelphia and Portland are the two most motivated teams to make a trade.

This is our best trade available w/o giving up CJ. I understand everybody is trigger happy and irrational after our recent slide, but trading a superstar for a superstar is only going to give us a boost short term. Eventually we will find ourselves in the 5-7 slot, killing dames prime in mediocrity. Noel fits our curve and can be attained on the cheap, while unloading one of our two toxic contracts that we have log jamming our wing positions. I'm scared that Noel will continue to be injury prone and never live up to his potential, but this is a gamble that we have to take. He is young, athletic, and has all of the tools we lack in out interior defense. Harkless is s perfect example of giving playing time to a player with incredible potential can pay off. Harkless already is looking as though he may be our third leg and Noel could be the final piece that gives us balance and shores up our interior deficiencies. Make it happen Neal

I'm liking the trade as speculated. Maybe Noel's defense can rub off on Leonard.

I didn't want to say anything until after Christmas but @HCP has been traded to the Utah Jazz for a bag of stale donuts.

Once the players hear this good news I'm sure the Blazers will go on a huge win streak.

No, Turner/Harkless/Aminu will get those minutes.

If we trade Crabbe I see us acquiring another wing, maybe in the same deal (Covington? Hendo?)

Other options:

Ben Mclemore
Mario Hezonja (not a fan but he's prob available)
Tony Allen

He told them at half time that we're bringing back Kim Hughes. That's why they played so much better in the second half. Hughes then floated the erroneous Philly trade rumor which will later turn out to be correct, leading to his once again being fired.
