WTF? Nash makes the Canadian Olympic team. So typical
how this league rolls. Has anybody watched how this
overrated, one dimensional player has performed this year?
What a crock.
Dis, you're kidding right. I don't remember anyone saying he is terrible. What he's done in the olympics not only hasn't translated here, has nothing to do with what he's done here. I couldn't care less if he scored 200 points in 50 olympic games, or 100 goals in a season for CBJ. If he scored for us like he did 5 years ago for CBJ we'd all love him. And for those of us who won't love him until he actually does something for us, like he was expected to do, saying go root for CBJ is just crap. Are you saying our criticism of someone means we can no longer be fans, or we can't criticize who you like, or can only criticize who you do like? Really.

I think Dis is referring to the people above who were "shocked" that Nash made team Canada even though he has those kind of international numbers.

Yup. Was referring to CAGED who called it a "crock" that such a "1 dimensional player" would make the Olympics despite the fact he DOMINATED the Vancouver games playing with Toews and as another poster suggested his Olympic production has been great over his career.
Here is the bottom line on Nash.....He has been disapointing this year and in last years playoffs. He was GREAT last year regular season. Concussions are strange things. I am not making excuses for him, he needs to be better....But alot of our fanbase including you 62 have already written him off as bust. Foolish. The guy is one of the most skilled players in the NHL and he can still get going.
I admit I was one of the guys who viewed getting Nash as one of the final pieces but I also think he can and will play much better. Especially if he is concussion free.
I actually agree with you Dis. He is very skilled, should play much better, and could play much better. Where you are wrong is that I've never written him off. I was against the trade originally for all the reasons I stated in the past, and I've seen nothing since he's come to make me feel me different or wrong in any way. Simply put, he is a goal scorer. If he's not scoring, he does nothing else. He is not a leader, doesn't like the dirty areas, isn't great on d, and doesn't appear to have much fire in the gut. I said appear. None of us really know. As far as last year, he wasn't great. He was good but inconsistent. Had some hot streaks then disappeared for stretches. Had 3 game winners. He had a few games where he dominated the game, but when we needed 1 win out of the last 3 games to get in, you didn't know he was on the ice. I never denied his skill, just said he wasn't a great all around player like a Crosby, Toews, Datsyuk, some others, worthy of changing the essence of the team. Different style but similar to Gabby. Goal scorer who does little else. Where am I wrong? Please tell me.
Dis shouldn't fall for Caged's (aka Eyeshaveit) antics since he's the most miserable "fan" you can come across on a message board. Full of whining about everything.
Well, I think what I said, he has had hot streaks, he's a scorer, he dominated some games, shows some objectivity. Blind yourself that I said those things all you want. My defense of Dubi or watching CBJ has zero to do with how Nash plays here. Nice dig. Good job Bob. I know Nash lovers want to make a big deal about his 3rd period goals, but instead of looking simplistically at a stat, try looking a little deeper. How many of those goals won or tied games, how many came when the game was out of reach, how many were really good plays or a lucky bounce that might have hit him in the ass and happened to go the right way. Did he cost us any goals by leaving his man alone in front? Where was he when he we needed him the most, meaning crunch time, or against playoff competition, not say a weak Islander team. There is something in between complaining about his regular season and gushing about it. My opinion is that his regular season was good, maybe very good, certainly not great. I think he's a good to very good player. You think he's unbelievable. So we disagree. Great. I'm still waiting for your answer on what he does for us if he isn't scoring goals.
