So, what do you think? Did the "Big Bang" do that for you?what has "God" ever done for you?it wasnt "God" that dunked that ballit wasnt "God" that hit that homerunit wasnt "God" that beat Grand Theft Autoit wasnt "God" that gave you all the achievments in your lifethat was you
Actually, that's wrong. Saying "if you're in, you're in" is a crude way to say it, but that's the basic idea. Where does it say you had to work to make your salvation? Seriously, how does your earthly Pope explain it?Moreover, how does he explain this: Ephesians 2:8-98: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9: Not of works, lest any man should boast. The whole idea of Christianity is to be a good person and if you do so will go to heavan and live eternally with God.
How do you prove that Abraham Lincoln lived and died? Did you live in his time period? Did you see him? No, so you rely on historical accounts, just as we do to know that Jesus existed. And, furthermore, how can you prove that the Bible is a book of lies. Say I can't prove anything, it's your burden to prove that the Bible is all lies. So prove it to me. Right here, just prove it to me. For that matter, prove to me that your history books aren't lying either.prove anything in the bible is true (if you're a christian)walking on water?seperating water?
What if there is, then you just wasted your life, and you'll never get it back.what if there is no heaven or hell? that person wasted their life and they can't get it back
Read the above verse. You don't get in through your good works. Anyway, think of it this way: If a basketball player refuses, to, say, shoot the proper way, despite the warnings of his coaches and fellow players, is it unfair that he doesn't make the team, because after all, he really believe in the way he was doing it. No, it's not. He ignored the advice of others, and did it his way. It's not how much you believe, it's what or who you believe in.I believe as long as your a good person you get in. I can't see someone who is an atheist but donates to charity's, helps others, and is just a good person go to hell just because he didn't believe in God. This also would go for someone who does believe in God but may not have been batpized and they go to Hell eventhough they have lived a great life and never did anything bad? I just that as unfair.
That was done by the Catholic church, which was not Christian then, and is not today. The Crusades were not justified in the Bible, you will not find a justification anywhere in the Bible.ever heard of the crusades?
Where? Show me where? You challenged me to prove the Bible, saying it was a pack of lies. Show me, prove to me, that what you just said isn't a pack of lies. Show where someone says, with evidence to back it up, that Jesus hung people, that Paul (if you even know who he is), hung people. Just show me. As for your second part, about people "threatening" you about hell and all. How is that a threat? How much more of a threat is that, than, say, the used car salesman "threatening" you about how if you don't by the car you'll lose out big time? How it it a threat? Is it on par, with, say, the Muslims' way of persausion?the people who started christianity were the same ones who hanged people who didn't believe in their ways and thats what makes me sick...because even though they dont hang people anymore they threaten you by saying you're going to go to hell if you don't believe in what they have to say
Nazis saying God is on their side is ridiculous, because they were killing the Jews, and those were Gods' people. Jesus himself was a Jew, not an Aryan.nazi propaganda "do what we say or face the concequences" that's what bothers me about religion
I find it strange you talk about God this way, yet say that Hitler is better than Bush, and killing Jews is OK. Wow, that was my longest post ever. What did go do for you? He made you, he made your family he made the people. If there was no god you wouldn't be here.

There's evidence. The Arc, the fossils, it's there. You've got to be open minded towards it instead of being closed minded and think that you are perfect and you are never wrong.[/quote]I have all this evidence to prove that the spaghetti monster god exists... I just forgot what the link is!Okay, for real. I wouldn't say I have a "side" here, but I honestly don't get the point of this "debate." What are we debating? The title implies that we are debating whether religion is BS or not. So far I have only seen people speak about evidence for or against things, citing opinion, and so on. Not only that, but mostly about one religion. Now, I don't really believe Christianity anymore, but to say it was just a cult that some guy thought up when he was sipping on some tea is simply absurd. To make such a claim shows how little one knows about the topic. In the same vein, it's stupid to think that God would make everyone perfect. That would defeat the point of a heaven, earth, hell seperation. All I'm saying is that the points made so far have been trivial and proved little either way.Spaghetti monster rules! :worthy:James 221Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. 24You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
