If you already have purchased a home(s) in the past? I could have sworn I saw an ad last night on TV indicating that there's a $6,000 tax credit (held over for 2010) available for previous home buyers.

Also, I was wondering if the tax credit would apply to me.....as I own two homes in Georgia? I mean, we would still be purchasing a home in Portland as our primary residence.

Thanks in advance.

I thought is was 8k for first time buyers only

Yeah, I saw that But I also saw some type of $6,000 credit, as well I "think" they said it was for previous buyers. Not sure. :dunno:

Also i think that the 8k credit was only held over till March 2010, im one of those people waying my options as a first time buyer

About the $6,500 Home Buyer Tax Credit

The extension signed by President Obama gives a $6,500 tax credit to home buyers who are not first-time home buyers. The qualification is a buyer must have owned a home as a primary residence and lived in that home for 5 of the last 8 years. This home buyer tax credit applies to homes purchased between November 6, 2009 and April 30, 2010, providing the sale closes by June 30, 2010.

As with the $8,000 first-time home buyer tax credit, a buyer who qualifies for the $6,000 home buyer tax credit must live in the new home for 3 years or repay the tax credit.

I wonder if the hardcore right wingers that bought a house this year will send their checks back?
