Is there any point at which you would physically revolt against our government?

Just wondering. It seems like people on both the right and left are getting more and more pissed at our country and feeling like its no longer their government. If you would, revolt, are there any specific red lines? Are you ready to join in if others start? Are you not willing under any conditions?

Personally, I'm a lover not a fighter, that's actually just a way to say I'm a wuss and would not fight for any cause other then to save lives, but that does not mean that at some point I wouldn't support others in their attempt to fight, we just are not there yet.

Thoughts?

If we became a religious state run by fox news analysis I'd probably just shoot myself instead.

Highly unlikely.

Although the feds are taking more and more of our rights away the people still have the power to vote and choose their government. Now when that ends...

Rupert Murdoch's religion is capitalism. Just like those who run any other major network.

And now that the NSA is reading this.... I love America.

I would only revolt with violence if they came for me.

That is to say, when the shit gets real bad, I'll be retreating to my cave/compound/tin foil lined apartment and holing up.

I think Niemoller said it best re: Germany in the 1930s.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

I speak out, I protest, but violence is another matter. So, unless my government took up arms against me and those of us that simply wish to abide by the Constitution, then it would be highly unlikely if not ruled out altogether.

I can dig it. If our civilians en masse are being fired upon by their own army, it's time to get real.

not gonna happen

they are changing the excepted norm from within

years from now you may notice, but it is a slow process. anyone who objects are laughed at just like now

What do you mean by physically revolt? Take up arms? Plant a bomb? Dress up in a costumes and make speeches that Obama is a traitor who wasn't born here?

Actually, Further, while the Black Panthers used "pick up the gun" rhetoric in the 1960s (resulting in their infiltration, FBI disruption, and destruction, including killing of many of their members) nowadays it's generally on the right, the extreme Tea Party fringe, Ted Nugent, Glenn Beck clowns. You don't hear peace activists or feminists or environmentalists or advocates of immigration reform going beyond nonviolent civil disobedience or peaceful protest. The so called "black block" that disrupts protests in Oakland calling themselves anarchists really have no political ideology, they are just upper middle class spoiled brats who like to make noise and break things.

I "revolt" politically. Not with arms.

Aren't you on the side of those trying to disarm the populace?

I think I made my stance on compulsory education, owner liability, and mandatory trigger locks/lockers as opposed to "disarming the populace" clear after Sandy Hook, but it's been a few months and the patina of stereotypes does get a bit thick after a while. My father and grandfather both hunted for food, which did feed us through more than one lean winter in the 80's. I have nothing against responsible gun ownership.

I notice that you didn't jump in and say when you'd start pulling the trigger. So what's the tipping point when you start fighting back against the Fuhrer Obama?

Nowhere did Father Martin Niemoller ever say he would arm himself, only that he would speak up. I am glad, however, you recognize how comfortable our President is with the idea of National Socialism, however.

On a more serious note. One of the laziest, most obese populaces the world has ever produced in a shooting war with the mightiest army the world has ever seen? Good luck with that.
