When you make extraordinary claims, you must provide extraordinary evidence to support them.

In Weinstein's case, there is no chance of some dirty political campaign trick like Democrats typically pull with the help of the media (remember W's DUI from 15 years earlier making the news the day before election day?).

Even if it's just a dirty joke, the willingness to tell the joke because he considered the subject humorous speaks to his character. He didn't have to mean it literally for it to reflect poorly on him.

look, i am NOT defending weinstein (and you ARE defending trump) against their allegations of sexual misconduct/groping/rape/ and in he case of trump, child rape, but it is completely disingenuous to say that just because he isnt running for president, nobody would make something up about him. Powerful people have enemies, and people who will gleefully hasten their demise. I think they are both sick fucks.

and the GOP and GOP politicians had a field day politicizing weinstien RE: his DNC donations, so your point doesnt hold water even if actually taken at face value.
