BTW, in this alternate universe, this Wes Matthews--who people are hawking as a top ten SG--would be our backup to B-Roy, playing 15 mpg.
Mathews could also be a SF on the right team.
His intangible contribution to this team >= his tangible contribution.
He's the epitome of a "glue guy." Tough, professional, good locker room guy, clutch shooter, hard-nosed defender, and on a very reasonable salary. Plus, he gets a ton of bonus points for his reaction to Pat Stacks on the streets of Portland...
Roy could play PG for 10 mins and Matthews would play SF for 10 mins so minutes wouldn't be an issue at all.
I don't think he was making that statement as though it would have been a problem. More like, "How good would we be if we had both the best SG in the game, and one of the top-10 SG's as his backup?"
I can't find the video, but this is Pat Stacks.This.
BTW, what is the Pat Stacks incident?
For next season only, these SG's I'd rather have for various reasons
Wade
Bryant
Harden
Hayward
Henderson
Williams
Iguodala
Thompson
Dudley
DeRozen
Redick
Beal
Sefolosha
I also think Jeremy Lamb will be better than Matthews soon
I wonder if we could trade Matthews for any of Henderson, Dudley, Sefolosha or Lamb?
that video was great. pat stacks was a great glue guy as well. funny how spurs always snag our glue guys. agreed on all counts. wes is a good glue guy, he improves every year. he's got a drive that is rare in people now a days, he's an excellent community guy, and i've always loved how he handles the media's stupid questions. His intangible contribution to this team >= his tangible contribution.
