Or Quarterman.
I thought the thread was about Isaac Austin. He was a late-bloomer like Hassan Whiteside or Kevin Duckworth. Turns out he's Isaiah's uncle.

Just got cleared to play. He's kind of like Meyers except with way better measurables.
Flo Hyman led the US women's volleyball team to Olympic silver medal. She had undiagnosed Marfan. She dropped dead of a heart attack when she was 32. Marfan syndrome caused an aortic dissection she was unaware of.
I remember that. There was an article in (I think) Sports Illustrated at the time. About that same time, there was another athlete, a college basketball player (can't remember his name) that dropped dead during a pick up game when his aorta burst.
So what happened? Did they find a cure for Marfan's Syndrome? Was he misdiagnosed? When this first came out his doctor told him he should never play basketball again, even a casual pick up game could kill him. Now he's been cleared to play in the NBA?
FixedThis dude would inspire a locker room and you know he would play with a passion nearly unmatched if he got a shot in the NBA. He is very athletic for a 7 footer and could be a good NBA rim protector. If we have the opportunity we have to take a chance on this kid. Chances are neither him or Ezeli pans out and gives us what we need.
Hank Gathers. And don't forget Reggie Lewis.

Straw man as usual. Please show me where I said that Gathers or Lewis died of Marfans.

Are you thinking of by far the most famous one, Hank Gathers, or someone else?

You didn't remember who you were thinking of, so I suggested Hank Gathers as a possibility. So you made a Federal case about my attempt at help being an impossible choice. Okay, do you remember yet who you were thinking of?
I knew it was gonna be something negative..Fixed

No, but I knew it wasn't Hank Gathers both times you suggested it was.
Chris Patton, University of Maryland. Took me 10 seconds to find it using google:
"According to a recent report in Sports Illustrated, other atheletes have been sidelined by Marfan's. Ten years ago, Chris Patton, a University of Maryland basketball player, died of a ruptured aorta during a pickup game. "
Well sure, now you go and find someone who fits. But how do we or you know you weren't thinking subconsciously of Hank Gathers?

Chris Patton died in April 1976. Flo Hyman died in Jan. 1986.

Maybe you were subconsciously thinking of Len Bias, who died in June 1986, which fits you estimate of "about the same time" as Flo Hyman died, much better than Chris Patton.
I only want to help you, Boob. You have problems reconciling your levels of consciousness. An LSD trip would calm you down.
I would love to have a conversation with your psychiatrist. I bet that would be fascinating.Man, its fun to post on message boards. Greatest invention since sliced bread.
That isn't "negative" that's called simple probability.I knew it was gonna be something negative..
Timothy Leary is dead!I would love to have a conversation with your psychiatrist. I bet that would be fascinating.
