It turns out Atheist know more about religions than "religious" folks

I think you're missing the point of the previous post. I don't think a normal person would call athiesm a religion. Legally, a judge should call athiesm a religion, as athiests qualify to have freedom of religion as any person who practices a religion does.

You lose at reading and comprehension.

I said it is a set of beliefs, like religion.

It is a lot like religion, and in numerous ways. It's certainly fully to do with religion, even if it's a lack of religion. There's a lot of proselytizing about it - if you don't believe in the lack of a god, you'll burn in some sort of hell (or something). It competes with other religions. The (lack of) god of atheism is the only god, just as the god of Judaism or Christianity is the only god.

I'm pretty sure that atheists do believe in some things, thus have a belief system. Like science, or logic.

etc.

Atheism is "rejecting" the belief in God or gods, or the position that there is / are no God(s). There is a difference that you can't quite seem to grasp.

I don't know why you keep ignoring the literal definition and the definition that the majority of atheists use but I'm going to stop arguing about it now. It doesn't seem like you will understand.

The only requirement to be an atheist is to not believe in a deity. You don't seem to understand that. There is nothing else to it. No science, no logic, nothing. An atheist can believe or follow anything as long as it's not a deity. Understand?

I understand. I understand you used the word believe a few times in your post. What does it mean to believe?

Do you know what "literal" means? I can go find many "literal" definitions for atheism that say "denying the existence of God". You don't understand the difference between "denying the existence" and "not having belief".

The only requirement to be an atheist is to not believe in a deity.

False. See above.

Obviously you don't understand since you are arguing what is defined. Take it up with Webster if you want the definition changed to fit your needs.

False. See above.

What? What you said above has nothing to do with requirements to be an atheist. I'm done debating the meaning of the word atheist, so let's move on to this set of beliefs you think also come with the word atheist.

Does Webster say atheists have to follow science or be logical? It doesn't. There is no set of beliefs that goes with atheism. That is just a fact. You yourself say that atheism is "denying the existence of God", right? Where does it say anything else that comes with that? Atheist means without god. It does not mean science. A person can believe or follow anything in the world except a deity and be an atheist.

This is why atheism includes humanists like Carl Sagan and pro-capitalist male-supremacist classists like Ayn Rand. Capitalists like Bill Gates and revolutionaries like Leon Trotsky. Nationalists, internationalists. Pacifists, militarists. Christopher Hitchens supported the war in Iraq, and was explicitly pro-Bush, while Richard Dawkins opposed the war and called Bush "swaggering, strutting little pouter-pigeon ".

What? What you said above has nothing to do with requirements to be an atheist.

I stated what the common DEFINITION of atheism is. That has EVERYTHING to do with what it means to be an atheist. What are you smokin?

I'm done debating the meaning of the word atheist,

I would be too if it was so obvious that I was wrong.

so let's move on to this set of beliefs you think also come with the word atheist.

Ok. I'll just retype it... again.

Atheism: "the doctrine or belief that there is no God "

You make this too easy.

Does Webster say atheists have to follow science or be logical? It doesn't.

Nope. I never said they do. You're building that strawman.

There is no set of beliefs that goes with atheism. That is just a fact.

Of course you mean except for the definition of the word which states that atheists have the belief that there is no God. The definition, in many places, uses the exact word "belief".

You yourself say that atheism is "denying the existence of God", right? Where does it say anything else that comes with that? Atheist means without god. It does not mean science. A person can believe or follow anything in the world except a deity and be an atheist.

That last section is a mumble of garbage that doesn't even parse. I'll leave that alone.
