Yeah it’s $5.45/gal over here at our neighborhood spot.

Just paid 4.49 in gladstone/milwaukie for regular.
Much less than what is being reported in the city. But im pretty sure it was 4.15 a few weeks ago and about a month ago i had filled up for 3.95 in Canby.
Prices vary it seems but it does seem to be going up most everywhere in the metro area.

If you want to know the price of gas there is an app called Gas buddy. Put your zip code in and it tells you the gas price anywhere at specific stations.

The app has been around for over a decade.

Our gas prices suck ass!
So many taxes added to the price, yet our roads are still terrible.

Spying on Your Driving: Family Apps, Gas Price Apps, More

Your insurance company may be spying on your driving. Your car may be helping them do it. If it isn’t, they still have ways of getting into your phone, and it’s often not obvious they’ve done so.

“While you can see your credit score, you will have a harder time finding out what your driving score is. But auto insurance companies can get it — and that could affect the rate you pay,” The New York Times reports.

The report comes after Times reporters got General Motors to cancel a program tracking drivers’ behaviors behind the wheel. Other automakers and non-insurance-related phone apps are still capturing data on your driving and selling it to insurance companies.

Modern smartphones include accelerometers that can detect when and how a phone moves. Insurance companies have long sought to use phones to record how often drivers speed, brake, or accelerate hard.

They sometimes do so openly through apps that promise discounts for safe driving. However, privacy-conscious consumers have proven reluctant to sign up for those programs. “So the industry has taken a different tack, getting data about how people drive from automakers or apps (including Gas Buddy) that drivers already have on their phones,” the Times explains.

Yeah I think it's if you install the app on your phone it is able to use the telemetry info to send to insurance companies.

I'm not sure if they can get the same information from cookies on the website.

I think there's something local going on with gas prices. Some kind of a problem with the supply on the West Coast causing prices to be higher...

There's *always* a problem with the west coast supply. Either a refinery fire, or they're upgrading it or something bad happened. That's always the excuse/lie as to why the prices are higher out here.

BTW, cheap gas will fuck your car up. Fred Meyers used to be Top Tier stations but now they've switched blends. Costco still sells Top Tier fuel, and when compared to other stations that sell the Top Tier blend their price is excellent.

Like many things in life, cheapest is not always the best.

Based on pretty extensive road trip experience, the states with the cheapest gas allow 85 octane. And that is the inexpensive stuff. Oregon's "bottom" is 87 octane. And 87 octane in some instances is almost as much in the "cheap" states as it is in Oregon. Run nothing but 85 octane in your vehicle and your vehicle will suffer for it over time.....

What? Are you going to waste more gas driving to find the cheapest gas? Insanity!

That actually would be more fun to watch than baseball….might have to check it out FAMS!

GAS has always been more expensive on the west coast. No matter who is in the white house. Blows me away when we are around the country and see gas for like $2.05 or some shit. Blows my mind.
True, but generally not twice the price on the West Coast.
