When Jrue is out, this teams offense becomes a cluster! There will never be any consistency as long as it's PG by committee. Deni tries to force too much (his TO numbers seem like they should be higher) and expects a bailout call all the time. He's really starting to be ball dominant, especially when he's pissed at the refs and tries to force them into giving him a call. Dame was at his worst in that situation and it's frustrating for the other guys on the court. Anyone who has played with that type of player knows it, too.
Love isn't really a PG, either. I do like his game, though. I think he could fill the role a few minutes a game, but he's not the floor general or distributor they need. Actually, Yang is as good as anybody at directing traffic and looking to get guys the ball in scoring position.
This team needs Jrue to be healthy and on the court to be their best. I'm starting to think they shouldn't trade him unless it's just too good of an offer. He may not be worth the money he's getting, but if this team is trying to win now, he needs to be on the court. I think he'll be good in the backcourt with Dame if he's still here next year.

Portland has 3 PG's...4 if you count Wesley and defensively, he counts. It's just a weird confluence of bad luck that all are out, although it was known that one would be out all season

the problem is Portland is only 1.5M under the tax line so it's too early for a pro-rated vet minimum because it would put them over the line...after they waived Rupert (his salary would still count toward cap)

now, IIRC, the rule for a hardship exemption is having 4 players who have missed at least 3 straight games. Also IIRC, Dame wouldn't count toward that because he was injured when he was signed, not after

but...Scoot, Wesley, Thybulle, Jrue, Sharpe would seem to qualify Portland for a hardship exemption. Meaning they could actually sign 10-day contracts now under that exemption. I'm just skeptical they could find a good enough PG to make a difference

Cissoko is the guy they'll plug the gap with until Scoot and Jrue get back. He doesn't turn the ball over as much as Deni. He plays decent defense and rebounds as well. Cooke should just go back to the Remix..they're not signing another pt guard this early in the season.

Thus the reason for just settling for losses this year again. It's becoming the culture here.
The last place this team wants to be is a 30-35 win team that gets a late lotto pick again.

Trading for a point guard would be about as crazy of a a move as we could possibly see.

Jrue and Scoot are projected to be back at some point this season. By themselves they will have a minutes crunch at the 1.

This season isn't about wins and losses it's about experience. There are no must win games and there really aren't any musts as far as trades are concerned. It would be nice to have a healthy point guard but at this stage of our roster's development it doesn't hurt to have Deni and Shaedon getting experience setting up the offense.

Yup.

We're not going to be disappointed not winning the championship this year. Losses don't bother me as much esp with all the injuries. I love seeing Deni Shaedon Clingan getting better than last year

or not jump to conclusions and be patient and wait for our guys to get healthy
But other teams are digging up gems like Colin Gillespie for the Suns, Ryan Rollins for Milwaukee, Daniss Jenkins for the Pistons, Nick Smith for the Lakers (at least against us), etc. etc. Why shouldn't we?

Would take back Derozan or Sabonis in a trade if it brought back Keon or Clifford?

National champion... And backcourt mate of another of my faves, Tristen Newton - also a National Champion.

My #1 second round target in last year’s draft (Ryan Nembhard) is looking exactly like how I thought he would — a Patty Mills-like steal.

I thought packaging multiple 2RPs to trade into that round for him was well worth it and he went un-freaking-drafted?!

I really hope the case was that he committed to Dallas and not Cronin choosing Caleb Love over him :smiley-195517897341

Isn't he playing behind Brandon Williams, whom we discarded?
