I'd much rather put up with 3 additional shooting fouls than 29 additional 3-pointers.6 fewer FTAs now too. I'd rather see more threes than free throws.

I love how you as a 22 year old child have seen enough over the years to know Terry Stotts is the problem for sure... you have a lot to learn kid... Dame and CJ ain’t changing for nobody... this is who they are
WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ANGRY KNOW-IT-ALLS?!I love how people on here who are sooo sure of their opinion being a fact, they make posts like this about others strong opinions.
I love how this poster is soo for sure about the bolded statement he doesn't realize how hypocritical this post is....
One of the many reasons why I hardly visit this place anymore. Too many angry know it alls....
Great way to read a comment and not understand a word that was said. Then even funnier ending your comment complaining about people not understanding or listening to an OPINION.Damn, so coaches are invincible huh? Nobody can be correct in criticizing their on court product because they cant possibly know what they deal with behind closed doors? Do you realize how ridiculous that is?
It's easy to say "our role players suck". You know what's hard? Describing why our coach sucks at a detailed, schematic level, something I've never really seen you do. Thats fine, it's just that you want to talk about others "easy" opinions... nah dude.
And your gonna try to use things said during the course of a game that's in reference to individual plays to try to make your whole point? Yikes.
Tired of people not understanding or listening to the others trying to explain well thought out and detailed opinions how we struggle from a coaching standpoint,. If that happens, fine, just dont come back with so hypocritical stuff like "Thats an easy opinion. Our talent sucks".
Can't disagree at all with benching cold shooters and giving minutes to players that need to be showcased. My only issue would be Meyers. We just dealt with Nurk having a bad shoulder. the Blazers were woefully short on bigs. Not sure Meyers will be going anywhere this season? My biggest wish for change would be at this point in the season benching cold shooters instead of letting them try to find their shot in extended minutes...Layman needs minutes and at this point I'd bench Zach more and play Meyers more of his minutes. Building some trade value before the deadline would be important to me and Meyers has built some trade value....give him court time now and look to swap him for a rim protecting backup center or an upgrade at the wing. If you swap him for a wing you play a lot of second half of the season small ball with Biggie, Zach and Nurk with Mo and Chief as well. I'd put Layman back in the starting role and bring Mo off the bench tomorrow but I'd play Jake more minutes in the second half

Nurk might not have the conditioning to play a lot more minutes. He’s a big, big dude.I think it's time to , just play Nurkic more for crying out loud. Leonard should be on a 1 minute leash. Play well, get more time, play aloof and continue to let guards score at will in the paint, cheerleader time.
Maybe, but lets find out.Nurk might not have the conditioning to play a lot more minutes. He’s a big, big dude.
Agreed. However, Its also fruatrating because I can't get it to work for 1 peticular poster. You need to use the ignore poster feature. It works great. For example, I have no idea who, or what you are talking about in this post. If you quoted someone, it must be someone I have on ignore, because I can't see anything, bolded statement, or otherwise, you are referencing.
Not everyone here is worthy of your time, and certainly not worth diminishing your participation and enjoyment of the forum. Put them on ignore and go happily about your business of enjoying the forum.

Weal argument. Heres your logic: How many NBA points do you have? None? Therefore you can't criticize the coach. Have you ever won a local election? None? Therefore you can't criticize the president.Great way to read a comment and not understand a word that was said. Bones your opinions are well thought out to say the least but they are just that. Opinions. All i said in the previous comment was that if you talked to a coach he might open your eyes also. Unless of course you are unwilling understand or listen to a coach that has 400 NBA wins under his belt? I mean honestly now. How many NBA wins.... Er NCAA wins....ER High School wins.... Er maybe it's NBA assistant coach wins.... Assistant College coaching wins.... Assistant High School coaching wins.... awe shucks lets just say it for what it really is S2 3 on 3 tournament coaching wins do you have under your belt?
Would it really be so hard to just say "Yeah you know Stotts might be dealing with things we don't see and he might know a few things we don't know."
And also where did you come up with me using things said during the course of a game? Where in the heck did that come from? All i said is that there are numerous posts by you and many others that say players "Suck". That ain't game threads brother. That is in just about every thread in this forum. Not to mention how many times you have railed to have Coach Stotts fired. It just seems that there are quite a few people that might be more informed than you that feel he is a pretty decent coach. Not just decent but a number have said he is the best coach they have ever had.
My OPINION stands. It's easy to say "The Coach Sucks!"
Do you know basketball more than Zach Collins? The "I know more because I'm older" crap is the weakest argument possible.I love how you as a 22 year old child have seen enough over the years to know Terry Stotts is the problem for sure... you have a lot to learn kid... McLillard will never work... They love Stotts... if they won’t change for him they won’t change for anyoneDo you know basketball more than Zach Collins? The "I know more because I'm older" crap is the weakest argument possible.
Dame and C.J. have played for one coach who's known for not holding players accountable
How the hell do you know if they wouldn't change? You dont...

One thing roster wise Ive never quite understood in this “rebuild” is how little NO seems to have valued old dudes. I know Dame is the leader of the team, but bringing in a guy like VC or some other olderish guy to just teach guys things. Maybe I over-value that role, but Ive always seen that as a pretty important role. We're clearly missing the vocal leadership of Ed Davis and before him Gerald Henderson or Earl Watson, even Chris Kaman or Mo Williams...seems that Pat Connaughton had that energy ….ET seems to be the vocal guy...Chief is at times...Nurk, not so much nor Dame or CJ

I guess my overall point was that people see the game differently from the lowest levels to the highest levels. Now I think almost all coaches / players / etc, get to the point to where we know what good basketball looks like, but how they would implement it varies.I don't get your overall point and hopes it applies to this guy.
Lmao.McLillard is an epic failure
This post is way too long so i suspect you won't read it.Weal argument. Heres your logic: How many NBA points do you have? None? Therefore you can't criticize the coach. Have you ever won a local election? None? Therefore you can't criticize the president.
"Would it really be so hard to just say "Yeah you know Stotts might be dealing with things we don't see and he might know a few things we don't know.""
All NBA coaches know something we don't and deal with stuff we can't see. Didn't mean we can't accurately see their flaws. Doesnt mean I can't notice that he gusted the pick n roll the same way for Steph Curry as he does Rajon Rondo. Doesnt mean I can't tell how few sets we run and how Iunproductive the are going to the rim. Doesn't mean I can't see him giving Layman the Vonleh treatment. Doesnt mean I can't see how he doesn't have a counter to Dame being trapped. Doesn't mean I can't see him running pick n roll just past half court when Dames getting continually trapped, etc etc etc.
I really have only been saying players (and really only Stauskas) in game threads. I have continually said our fanbase underrates our roster.
People always want to blame the coach. I can understand that. But in reality this team is made up of a seconds. Very few solid players on this team.
I HATE posts like this. "People always want to blame the coach".
Exactly what is Stotts supposed to do to "Hold Them Accountable". Is he supposed to dog them more in practice? Run a few extra sprints? Is he supposed to yell and scream at them? Is he supposed to do that in the Moda Center in front of fans so you know it is happening? Or is he supposed to do this behind closed doors? Are you simply looking for him to bench players? How long are those benching supposed to last? How do you think Professional NBA players should be treated? Maybe it should be belittling them in the video sessions? They love Stotts because Stotts doesnt hold them accountable and hes a players coach. They need a coach they respect, who holds them accountable.
You seriously think that a coaches ability to get the most out of a player is based on how likeable they are? Seriously? Lmao.![]()
If it were me--pull guys off the floor when they're clearly ignoring something that has allegedly been identified as a coaching mandate. For example, he's pulled Meyers out of a game for not shooting when he's supposed to. But has he ever pulled CJ for a few minutes for lazy defense? Sat ET down for shooting a three? Pull Aminu for losing track of guys on consecutive defensive possessions? Pulled Dame for slowly walking the ball up the court in situations where he could/should be pushing it?Exactly what is Stotts supposed to do to "Hold Them Accountable".
