I've seen Bird, Magic, Jordan, & Kobe play, IMO LeBron is the G.O.A.T

Watching him nail fadeaway jumper after fadeaway jumper while he completely owned the Raptors--it was Jordan-esque.

.

The difference is Jordan did that every game and with three guys hanging on him.

What greats do is break their opponents mentally. I think the Eastern conference is sort of weak, but I also think Lebron has just beat down those teams for so long it’s in their heads that he’s coming. You even see this Steph Curry and while he’s a bit of a one trick pony, he is such a good shooter that he is always on the opponents mind no matter where he is on the court. Lebron has owned the east, and I think their are examples of teams that are better than his that just couldn’t jump the mental gap, the pacers a few years ago, Toronto, Washington, they all have a huge mental block.
Michael did this to the east and kind of the entire NBA back in his day too. Teams just think they can’t beat these guys especially four times. Very, very few teams and players have done this and even guys Like Kobe, or Durant teams are very much aware of them, but still believe they can beat them. Even Duncan didn’t break opponents the way Lebron does and that is why Lebron belongs in the top 3-5 of all time in opinion. I still have Michael and Kareem as my 1-2 with Lebron at 3 but Lebron is phenomenally gifted as an athlete and has worked really hard to be an amazing basketball player as well.
This is a very good point. LeBron has owned the East and the other teams can't seem to get over the hump against him. The teams in the West don't have that same mental block. The Warriors and Spurs certainly didn't feel like they had no chance against the Heat/Cavs.

Jordan owned the league. Early in his career, he had to learn to get past the great Celtics and Pistons teams, but once he did, there was no stopping him. There was never a doubt the Bulls were winning the finals all six times they made it there.

BNM

I know Saric said this and I think someone else did too when asked who they were hoping to match up in the playoffs "Just not LeBron!" That lack of confidence is a real thing especially in the playoffs where the pressure is intense.

It reminds me of Tiger Woods. If he was leading going into the final round it was over because no one truly believed they could get the best of him on a Sunday.

It's impossible for me to distinguish exactly which player was the best of all time. All I can say is that there are a number of players who deserve consideration.

Buzzer beater tonight

He’s a beast. Nobody in the NBA impacts the game like Lebron. Honestly Durant isn’t even close, and he’s the second best active player.

But Harden is the best offensive player of all time.

- Mike D'Antoni

I think the guy who is close is Curry (especially when he’s healthy), the range he has is just crazy. He may not be the overall player that KD or Durant is because of his size but on the offensive end his shooting, and dribbling is awe-inspiring at times.

I'm gonna go with an even better offensive player of all time and that would be the Ice Man, George Gervin.

Agree with OP. But I believe another player deserves some love. GOAT for me goes beyond NBA stats and awards.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar dominated from his earliest school games. He was so dominate in college the rules were changed to outlaw dunking! So he invented the unstoppabe and effecient sky hook shot.

After the NBA he went on to an impressive acting career. He should have recieve an oscar for his role in Airplane. Ok, an oscar might be a slight stretch.

Are you saying the rest of the league needs to find a mistress for LeBron and ruin his marriage with his wife chasing him down the street and throwing basketballs at him? Seemed to have worked on Tiger, lol.

Seriously, no Love, the rest of the roster is shit, pure shit, lottery team, no other player current or past could get them to the finals.

Unbelievable.

They didn't even play good... Boston played their worst game of the season. Rozier is out here looking like Westbrook, going 0-10 from 3pt land... They got a ton of open shots, and if they shoot average, the Cavs are going home.

I use to like LeBron as a player in his earlier days with the Cavs and boy was he a beast, but experienced teams got the better of him early in his career (Spurs, Celtics, Pistons). My respect and like for him went down the toilet after he left the Cavs the way he did with the national broadcast and then formed what we now see in todays NBA frequently, a super team. In some regards he helped ruined the NBA because of it and now some teams like our Blazers will never prosper unless we strike gold on a lot of draft picks. But regardless he came back to the Cavs and while I can never like him as much as I once did, I recognize and respect what he has done as a player and some of the teams he has carried since coming back to the Cavs, especially this one, whether he has won the NBA Finals or not, makes me feel like he is honestly the GOAT. The dominance he has done to Eastern teams in the playoffs the last what 8 years is insane. So for sure, he is up there in conversation. I will say it would be interesting if he made the finals if he were playing in the west because I'm not sure he would with the West being tougher IMO. Either way for sure a hell of a player and will be recognized as one of the best ever if not the best.

If if if if. What's their excuse for games 3,4, & 6? Cleveland's the best!

LeBron IS the best ever.

I think he might be, but when MJ finally figured out how to win, he flat out owned the NBA. Lebron has definitely owned the east, but he's had his problems in the finals, and this year is pretty incredible what he's done, but Boston is super young, philly is young, and Toronto did what they always do. Not diminishing what Lebron did this year, like I Said he very well might be the best. Lebron played against, the Spurs and lost with a really old Tim Duncan, He lost to Dallas, he's lost to GS a couple times. I think it's super hard to compare generations. Lebron is definitely the Basketball player of his generation and it's not close. It probably sounds like I'm arguing against Lebron as #1. Lebron came into the league at a much younger age than guys used too so he will end up with all the stats, guys been ridiculous.
