The New York Knicks haven't said they are persuaing Allen Iverson. But they haven't 100 percent ruled it out either. It makes at least some sense: Chris Duhon has disappointed at the point, and Iverson may provide some relief there.
But might there be another reason the team is playing nice in public over Iverson? Perhaps because he shares the same agent as LeBron James?
"Of course the Knicks will look into bringing him in on a one-year deal," writes Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News. "It's the politically correct thing to do. Iverson's agent is Leon Rose, who also represents LeBron James. The Knicks don't want to cross Rose and ruin their shot to get LeBron, however long that might be. So give Iverson No. 3 and maybe he can fill the Garden to the rafters, once again. Either way, it's kind of sad."
Lawrence isn't alone in this theory, as Ken Berger of CBS Sports also floated that idea yesterday.
