Thank god we didn't draft that Jordan guy. Dodged a Bull(et) there.

was depressed so I watched that reverse dunk by jake and check out chris paul and deandre jordan loose their shit in the background then realize he's on the other team and they need to calm down lololol

I hope he didn't just play against the rockets because of matchups. Even last night, he did little things that don't show up in the box score but are so important for young players. He showed the ability to drive to the hoop. He got to the line the first time and got jacked with a terrible call the second. Defensively he's up and down but shows plenty of potential there as well. He belongssss

I wish the clips of this would show the fake and spin before the drive and dunk. That's the real beauty of it, how they think they have him bottled up and he gets away for the reverse jam.

Okay. I guess I missed something. There's always a first time for everything. Actually I clearly remember another time in 1959, so this is the second.

Every guy I knew
in Portland. Except he can
play basketball. Duuuude.

The way Crabbe is playing right now on most nights, I'd give all his minutes to Layman. The problem is, with that massive salary, you have to play him and hope he can put up some numbers so he can be traded at some point.

Same with Turner for the most part as well. Both of them are stealing paychecks most nights they are on the court.

I'd agree with Turner up until the last week - he has done much better, and only made a couple silly mistakes. Compared to the first few weeks - I'll take it.

I agree he is doing better but his +/- is still a dumpster fire. He is playing against other teams' benches almost all the time so why does he have to be WORST in the entire NBA. That just isn't near good enough.

If he can continue to get better, maybe his time on the court won't continually a net negative.

Is it fair, though, to look at when he was doing horribly when trying to learn all the new schemes/plays/etc or that it looks like he -has- and try to project that way? I get that there's a larger sample size (still small, but bigger than a week), but the eye test is telling me there's change happening, and it looks sustainable from his end.

Turner is the scapegoat, but he is a legit player. He's literally the only guy on the second unit that plays defense and offensively has a post game that stotts is finally utilizing more.

Crabbe is in a shooting slump, but he's always been a shooter, and it will even out eventually.

But this thread is about Layman. There are plenty of other places to bitch and cry about Crabbe and Turner.

I feel like this is a read, then post, type of thing, but I'll let it slide since we were on the same mind path

is that cp3 on the bench getting hyped from the dunk? dj had to hold him back lol

He's only made 1 of his last 12 threes.

True but his misses have been on target most of the time. He was front rimming almost all of his threes against Memphis. Makes me think he wasn't getting his legs into the shot enough. He's a rookie and isn't used to playing in back to back with little sleep.

He looked tight out there last night, you could almost feel how nervous he is when he's out there with dame and cj he's afraid to do the wrong thing. Tells me he needs more minutes with the starters, not less, cause we have seen what he can do when he feels comfortable and is just out there playing ball. He can be a real player when he's not worried about terry snatching his ass after one mistake.

Don't care about his missed shots, he was impressive defensively. He needs more playing time, but it's tough with all the wings ahead of him.
